I am not sure STA is in a position to be able to brag about one player. STA lost to Bullis 16-9. The Fogo may have won a lot today, but the team could not do anything with it. Tons of bad throws, missed catches, and stolen balls. STA plays like a good JV team and Bullis was sucked down to their level for the first half of the game. Bullis scored first goal at the end of the first quarter and the score at the half was 6-3 Bullis. That is not good playing on Bullis' part. After that game, not sure they should be ranked 7th in the country.

Bullis has a ton of talent but a few weaknesses. Some teams like Prep will be able to exploit those weaknesses for a win. Other teams it won’t matter.

Again, time will tell if SJC 22s actually win something and wait until the college recruiting process is over. Right now GZ 22s have actually won a WCAC title and have a couple of great commits.

Well 8-9 of those 22s beat up on Prep last year and also played in the WCAC final in '19.

Kids are coming from Waldorf and Frederick to SJC, damn that is quite a hike! I hope they are finding time to hit he books hard as lacrosse ends after college.

I do know that many of those 23s at Prep are NOVA kids and many are re-classed kids that played Club Blue. So I think Prep's gain is GZ's loss.

Georgetown Prep has been playing the re-class game better than anyone for the past two decades. Some of their current 23's turned 17 in the Fall, its rather pathetic. I would argue half of these blue chip recruits you hear back from Ty Xander or whatever beat writer from IL lacrosse, don't pan out by the time they are seniors in HS as other kids have finally caught up physically.

Prep will play PVI in June and GZ may meet Prep in June's Corrigan DC Championship. Are the WCAC and IAC schools down with Corrigan's plan? Would be fun to watch.

Can you provide more details about the Corrigan event, where is the event being hosted? What teams are participating as this is the first time I have heard anything of it. Thanks,

Not many 2023 NOvA kids at Prep I know of 2 that are from NOVA but very good players from DC Dogs. Two others from DC Dogs at PVI. PVI has the best 2023 class in the WCAC and SJC has the best 2022 class in the DMV. Gonzaga will always be a favorite but the talent is also shifting

Because the people who do the Nike Poll are clueless and are basing the ranking on past performance and verbals.

I do think Gonzaga's best days might be behind them (they will still remain a VERY GOOD PROGRAM at the National level) but to expect them to be in the top 20 year in and year out will be a tough task.

SJC is aggressively recruiting and snagging a few kids each year that probably would have ended up at Gonzaga. If Saint Mary's in Annapolis remains strong (and I suspect they will be), I suspect the Annapolis / Anne Arundel pipeline might dry up as well. Most notably as well, Georgetown Prep program really appears to be taking off under Urick. I was not impressed with GZ against Landon (given it was a scrimmage), if it had been a game, I do think Landon would have won with ease (and it remains to be seen if Landon is any good this year)

Its too bad Gonzaga and GP don't play this Spring as I really don't think the game would have been close.

I don't think the SJC kids are from Vienna or NOVA in general where GZ has gotten a lot of kids recently. The recruited 22s are from Frederick, Crofton, and Waldorf. I remember them from the club scene on Hawks, ML, NL, and Crabs. Maybe it's different with the new batch of 24s, and I don't know who those kids are. Not many 21s or 23s on SJC that I know of except the younger brother of the Middie at UMBC and the re-classed goalie. I do know that many of those 23s at Prep are NOVA kids and many are reclassed kids that played Club Blue. So I think Prep's gain is GZ's loss. We'll see. Prep will play PVI in June and GZ may meet Prep in June's Corrigan DC Championship. Are the WCAC and IAC schools down with Corrigan's plan? Would be fun to watch.

It seems the Mater Dei pipeline has been diverted back to Prep. That also bodes well for Prep and ill for Gonzaga, but you have a great coaching staff on Eye St., a lower tuition than Prep, and a good Jesuit education. I think the education part will help Gonzaga fend off St. John's. I am not certain of the staff at St. John's; since they are throwing the money around, they are getting a lot of athletes. The questions remains, can they coach 'em up?

To one of the posters about Landon, let's see how the season plays out. Bullis and Prep have gotten a lot of hype lately, but the last time Landon played either team, the margin was one goal. Landon has only gotten better.

We will begin to have an idea of how the IAC will play out in the next couple of weeks. That is the good thing, the adults like to prognosticate, but the kids play the games. Again, I am just glad these kids get a chance to play.
