I'm not wasting my time anymore. Gave my two cents with what is actual experiences. Guess I am just old school and was submitted to much much worse when I played sports. The antics you are complaining about is nothing in comparison.

It's a shame that forums act in this manor. It's why the GotSoccer forums got shut down years ago. Almost an identical situation but that was more about calling kids out by name rather than coaches.

Enjoy your soft kids, I am guessing they will be living in your basement long after college. Meanwhile, I will watch mine excel despite perhaps being belittled or verbally abused by future employers. When they gain respect for not being crybabies and working through tough times, they will be the ones giving orders. Fortunately, they have been raised to know better about how to treat others.

Yours will not know what perseverance looks like. Good luck in the future and make sure to enjoy those rare wins at Metro United and Potomac!

^If it is a parent, the more this PP posts excuses for this type of coach behavior the more it displays flawed thinking and proves my point. My kids are all older than U14 and I’ve observed this coach people are talking about for years and again...when parents from BOTH teams have to continually cringe bc any coach is super obnoxiously whining at and berating players (and yes also refs) there is a problem. If it is the culprit posting here and not a PP, then I would say don’t act like such a jerk. It doesn’t help your players or make you look good.

Not making excuses. Clearly we see "belittling" and "verbal abuse" in a different light. I have personally experienced verbal abuse and this is far from. Players are called out for making "stupid" mistakes. The most verbal abuse might be "You cost us the game". Using a curse word as an adjective is not verbal abuse or belittling either. Yelling "Pass the BALLLLLLL" does not fall under that either.

I really can't believe you brought up refs, lol. I've watched coaches get in physical altercations with refs and coaches over the years.

FYI, we were part of Bethesda since 2003. Never club hopped and never needed to, thank God! I've seen so many coaches and players over the years come and go. I've witnessed the boys side and the girls side. I've dealt with many like you (who did leave the club). I've seen good and bad players both come and go but most importantly, I've seen the quality of player DG produces personally, on the field and off the field. You have not!!!

Really, it's people like you who drive me nutty. So entitled and threatened by anyone who thinks differently than they're opinion. Again, 50 years of coaching without issue hands down over rules your opinion. That's facts. That's numbers. Your one or two years (pretty obvious your DD is U14 or younger) experience with a coach does not entitle you to go bash him/her on a local internet forum.

Would absolutely love to know what Club you are honestly from and why you are so hell bent on voicing your thin skinned opinion!

OMG. It’s because of people like you that Priests and the the US Gymnastics team got away with years of child abuses.

So now you are turning supposed "verbal abuse" into sexual abuse. Real nice. I bet you are an outstanding human being. Please stay as far away from Bethesda as possible. Next you will be accusing the coaches of rape knowing damn well you are lying. Beginning to wonder if Christine Blasey-Ford's has kids and if they play soccer.

Geez. Are you that desperate for your DD to play in D1 soccer?

My daughter has already graduated and plays for a DII school, no athletic scholarship. My son is now in Graduate School and decided to playing soccer after High School. Please read earlier posts. I already explained this. I do still donate to Bethesda SC as it has taught my children important life lessons.

1. That's creepy.
2. You know that you are posting as anonymous right? So what do you mean read earlier posts? F-U.

so you have no experience with BSC for at least the last 5 years?

That was me idiot. I also just posted the above. Obviously you're math skills are off. DD graduated in '19. Do yourself a favor and look at commits from '19.

I posted about three kids playing in college. I did not post about a ‘19 grad, and am not sure why someone is claiming to have made my post. Anyway, my experience is more recent than 5 years as I have younger kids as well. I agree with a PP who noted one of BSC’s biggest problems is the parents who try to run teams and buddy up to the coach. My DD had a good friend on the ‘18-‘19 team who said a parent group almost ended the team and ran the coach off. I know from other parents on that team that there were some parents who were really toxic. But, that’s as much a coaching problem as a parent problem, because there are coaches at BSC who let the parents cozy up to them and facilitate this behavior.

That's because you are not responding to a PP there. This is more than likely the culprit trying to defend his own actions.

No idiot. I am the poster and was a former paying parent. My only motivation here is to witness for the truth rather than watch other parents who do not have the experience. I wish I didn't stumble upon this forum actually.

Dave Greene also coached the 00/01 team from U12 to U14. Yes, that was the future graduating classes of '18 and '19. Michelle R. continued with a similar style. Again, this class was one of the most successful in Bethesda's history. If I had the time, would love to know how much of a role he played in the Class of 2012.

Good coaches also yell too. United Soccer Coaches named him National Coach of the Year in 2019. Just a guess, but that probably trumps your opinion and anyone on DCUM.
