Our soldiers were not backed up by US Military air support. They were backed up by the French, who were NOT AUTHORIZED to intervene or fire a shot.

Our soldiers did not have armored vehicles - they were sent in pickup trucks.

Our soldiers were given faulty intel that said "it was unlikely that they would meet any hostile forces."

In reality, they walked straight into an ISIS ambush. Twelve US Green Berets fought a battle with more than 50 ISIS fighters, without help, for 30 minutes.

Three died.

Finally, a rescue helicopter arrived, but it was NOT a US military helicopter. The US Government has outsourced that job to “private contractors.”

The contractors landed and loaded the soldiers, some injured and the three dead.

Here's where this gets really bad.

The contract helicopter team did not do a standard military head count.

Sgt. La David Johnson was LEFT BEHIND.

According to the Pentagon, his locator beacon was activated on the battlefield, which indicates HE WAS ALIVE when they left him there.

They didn’t recover his body for two days.

His widow was told that she could not have an open casket funeral. This indicates that he was mutilated after being left behind on the battlefield.

This is NOT like Benghazi. This is far, far worse.

But Congress is silent.

The Trump Pentagon gave these men bad intel, poorly equipped for the mission, no support, outsourced rescue people and then tried for more than a week to pretend it never happened.

In that time, Trump spoke on many occasions but never mentioned it. Tweeting attacks on many but never even mentioning these brave men.

Only after pressure from the media did he finally acknowledge these men and their service.

And we are allowing Trump to distract us AGAIN from what really matters.

And the GOP Congress is silent. Shameful.

Why did Johnson get separated from the team? There are lot we don’t know. Maybe that’s why the government didn’t make public statements for 10 days.

After 30 minuets, was there a helicopter being sent to Benghazi? How about after two hours? The casualty rate in Benghazi was 100% because the help never came.

And that's only what's known. The cover up and distraction says there's more to the story.

This is what we should be talking about.
These are the 4 brave Americans who lost their lives in Niger.

And, here is information about them.

As to the voters, it is up to you to decide how important it is to have someone who believes all people are created equal in the White House.

Good thing he broke his pattern by having a very positive interaction with the black wife of a Hispanic soldier who died a few months back. Can you even imagine that?!?

And we know that because the wife taped the call - did trump know he was being taped?

Wilson knows that this subject is not one to joke about. When she was laughing and smiling about becoming a "rock star," you could tell she was doing it in a really serious way.

WTF?

But just so we're clear: Trump and his supporters are totally, totally not racists. This family being black, this member of Congress being black, that has utterly nothing to do with any of this. In fact, anyone who notices that the family is black, and that it is often black people who are abused by Trump and his supporters, is *themselves* the racist. See now?

Oye. Back to the race card and the accusations that Trump voters are racists. Sigh.

No no, like I said - them being black definitely has nothing to do with him feeling entitled to take even less care than usual with his words. Or with his supporters feeling totally right that the family and member of Congress should definitely have no right to speak about their feelings or experience with Trump. Definitely, them being black has nothing to do with any of this. I mean there's no pattern of Trump behaving especially grossly with black people, or with his supporters seeming to get extra vicious and nasty when black people are concerned. Absolutely, race is never a factor in any of this.

For liberals, criticizing any black person with liberal beliefs is racist.

Is it similarly racist to criticize a black person with conservative beliefs? I'm not so sure. I'll have to think about that one.

It's been claimed here that nobody thinks Trump intended to disrespect the widow. You do think it was his intent?

It is the weirdest thing. A White young lady who was a contestant in one of the "Miss" pageants blasted Trump by name on national TV. Trump did not say a word about it or her. Jemele Hill says the same thing in a Tweet. He goes all in on her. So…yea there IS a difference…whether folks want to admit it or not.

Are you saying the call was bungled because the Marine and his widow were black?

NP here and I can totally believe that Trump had a different reaction to speaking to this family because they are black. I see it based on his past behavior. He is a 71 year old grandpa from a generation that had deeply held beliefs of white superiority (father a KKK member), had reportedly made racist remarks in the past ("I don't want black people counting my money" -- in his casino), his company was caught carrying on racist practice of keeping out black tenants, "look at my African-American over there," etc. etc. And an elderly, inflexible guy isn't going to change his tune now - heck, he's never shown an ability to change his tune. He's got one of the whitest cabinets in decades. He strongly doubt he feels comfortable around black people, or I should say blacks from certain communities (ie not the rich and the famous) and I can see him fumbling the call because of that.

^^I strongly doubt not he.

That is a good article.

+1. I love the writing style. The evaluation of Trump is spot on.
