How do you know?

Common data set shows zero admitted off waitlist last year. Email states they did not go to the waitlist this year.

UPenn/ Cornel intake is almost double/triple that of typical T20 schools. Ridiculous!

Any word on Duke closing? My kid's portal still looks exactly the same.

I read somewhere that a kid was notified that UVA's wait-list is closed.

CMU sent an email today stating their waitlist process has concluded for Fall of 2026. I’m glad that door can close officially vs hanging on all summer.

It's "full" for most kids but they definitely kept some kids alive.

Personally I think it's much better to be rejected from the waitlist early. My kid made it through several rounds of waitlist cuts at 2 top20 schools last summer only to be cut in late July in the end. That wasn't great. They remained committed to another top20 all along but the stupid uncertainty of other potential options messed with the head of an 18 year old.
