Please don't humor this guy who has single handedly kept this thread alive for more than a year. It will never stop. Its pointless. Obviously, it's an odd obsession.

You keep posting this, but other than the football team, there seems to be nothing backing it up.

I think that this about sums it up.

Soccer did not fare so well either.

Your article is actually pretty complimentary of Sidwell ...

[GDS] defeated the Sidwell Quakers 2-1, a victory that shocked the MAC soccer world. Before Sunday, Sidwell hadn’t lost a game at home in five years, and hadn’t lost a MAC game in four years .... Sidwell, who was missing captain C__ and senior D__ due to the State Cup Final, had to rely on Captain B__ to lead them to victory. ... B__’s efforts, however, were not enough to come out with the victory ....

the point of posting this is there is a poster who consistently posts the rankings and always talks about high ranking the soccer team is. Rankings only go so far. Winning is good too.

The team was ranked high because they won a lot of games. They lost in the final because their two best players had another obligation.

Sidwell's athletic program did just fine I'd say. Boys soccer was ranked in the top 10 in the Post and Girls soccer was ranked #2 in the Post. There wasn't another school with two teams in the top 10 of the two sports.

Sidwell played only three quality opponents all year. They managed a combined 7 points and gave up 144 points. Nice try.

This head in the sand mentality will continue to keep Sidwell in the gutter.

How is it in the gutter if most of the teams are fairly competitive (except for some blowouts at the expense of the football team)? No one is suggesting it is a sports powerhouse. On the other hand, it provides an opportunity for decent competition for those kids who want it. And yes, it appears that some go on to college athletics.

Losing in the Championship is not faring well? It seems like they had a good season otherwise.

It seems that their football team won a few and lost a few.

Is there expectation that the football team is going to be like Quince Orchard or something? For what it is, clearly the athletic program is fine.
