2) There are NO SSSA politics anymore. KJ is out of the picture. The 2028 Blue team, which is the most recent team selected, has a whopping two players from SSSA.

There are definitely kids that will be moved from DC to Black for HS. With no NGLL in the spring the travel is also more manageable for parents.

I hear you, but would the M&D organization even want a satellite team that rivals its flagship M&D Black? They have spent years building that brand and it sits on the Mount Rushmore of club lacrosse. M&D Black losing to M&D DC is not a good look for the flagship, so if I were running M&D I might consider moving just enough players from DC to Black to make sure it does not happen consistently. That could be done this spring if the matter is urgent, or kept as an option should it become a pervasive issue next couple of years. Paradoxically, great success is the probably the worst thing that could happen to M&D DC because it would all but guarantee their destruction.

They want all of their teams to be successful. In their ideal world the top bracket at a tournament has M&D black, M&D Orlando and M&D DC. In high school wins and losses don’t matter. More teams of their brand in the top brackets is good business for them. An M&D vs M&D championship in a tournament is a win win situation regardless of the final score

I'm guessing this tryout season will be more chaotic than the last couple of years for the reason above, combined with a mistaken belief that being affiliated with M&D will be a magic connection when it comes to recruiting, even though it hasn't helped other satellites.

Remember Pride Red 2028 won Summer Genesis Origins in their last tournament and finished ranked #7. That team had good high school coaches that parents and players liked, and still, almost every single player on that team tried out for Capital due to the recruiting track record. Maybe the communication is more team-oriented at M&D DC than prior years with feeder clubs to Capital, but I wouldn't bet the house on that. Individual families will make decisions based on their perceived best interest for their players.

The objective is to suggest any girls who can in the DC area will jump ship for Capital.
