Obviously Middlebury! Have you not been? It’s known as Club Midd. You will get your money’s worth.

I would pick UCSD or UNC.

UCSD has a good reputation for science among the UCs.

UNC is the most rah-rah which makes me think extrovert but they have good science graduate programs.

I would select UVA or UNC for the campus experience. UCSD is not in the same caliber as UVA (I am a California resident). UCSB is wonderful, but I don’t think it has strong job placement.

For science? I thought UCSD was great for science.

Cost is not an issue. Thanks!!

These are all very different schools. What vibe does your DC like best? I think UIUC is a good mix of academics + social life.

Kid is dual and Canadian schools are so much cheaper for us.

Are you full-pay at NYU & Michigan ?

How much is the cost difference among the 5 universities ?

Any specific desired career ?

Fluent in both English and Canadian ?

Then go to Canada! I know a kid who is very happy at Queens. Save the money for grad school.

I would hesitate to pick Queens due to lack of name recognition unless the kid wants to settle in Canada.

did they applys at McGill?

Need to be fluent in Canadian for McGill.

Ignoring the fluent in Canadian thing......... What is the culture like at McGill? I've heard it's different that the typical American college experience. My DC loves Montreal and has been studying French for years. But, I also know they want a rah-rah college experience.

No question for me—Middlebury. The most beautiful campus I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of them.

Totally disagree, last on that list but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Guess it depends on if you like neoclassical architecture and red bricks or limestone/marble buildings in the classic New England mill style. And Southern Piedmont vs. Green Mountains. Warm vs. cold. Suburban vs. rural.

In terms of academics, all are great options. What does he want to study?
