If you don't want to be associated with the transphobes, anti CRT, library book pulling crowd, say so. Use your words clearly and concisely. Don't send your minions to insult others who care about these things.

The posters here need to step back and let the forums play out. Given MT’s tweet and other comments I’ve seen her post and link to, I have zero doubt she’s a trans-ally. Is that her top issue on campaign? No and I hope not given that APS policy is supportive of trans kids and it would be pure virtue signaling. I’m sure she will be asked a pointed question on this and she will answer and until then you’re all just massively speculating and spreading lies on the internet.

No one is spreading lies on the internet. People are raising truths, such as Miranda's association through APE with the leader of the anti trans group, and voters are raising questions about Miranda's stance on trans based on a very vaguely worded tweet. Miranda has every opportunity to specifically support trans kids rights if she wants to. She has a website with her positions but that isn't on it. She has a twitter feed but did not state her position.

The question is.... why not? It's starting to look more and more like she doesn't want to. Again, she can change that. But she has not.

Has anyone looked to see if that person is in AEM or any other arlington group. Because that would be hilarious.

Being in a Facebook group with another human doesn’t have transitive properties. There is no barrier to entry to most Facebook groups. It’s not some test.

APE made Miranda. Now she has to lie in it.

Wow - The anger level is quite high with you. I doubt Miranda could ever do enough for you to win your vote, even going so far as to start a tweet thread full of curse words directed at APE. You’d find some way to make it not enough. I think perhaps you should just vote for Angelo and stop obsessing about a local parent group that exists and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, obviously to your chagrin. Based on what I see on AEM, even Duran has started working with APE. For your mental health and well-being perhaps you should move on from 2020.

Yup. And I would also say Miranda made APE.

So you’d rather have extremely important decisions about your kid’s education made by a 22 year old who knows absolutely nothing about multi-million dollar budgets, long-term planning, education, APS or Arlington and has no experience as even a parent in any school system??? I doubt at his age he’s made a more complicated decision than what college should he attend or should he in Roslyn or Shirlington. I don’t think his youth or his experience on SNAP, which appear to be his two big talking points, qualifies him for being a PTA president let alone SB. You need therapy if you’re that anti-MT.

Maybe he at least knows how to spell Rosslyn! Are you sure you're even from Arlington, PP?

Both candidates are terrible. After hearing what they will say at candidate debates, I will vote for the better of the two.

If that's Angelo, so be it.

Also, I'm going to be watching the campaign donations disclosures. That will really tell me who Miranda really is.

So if all the members of the APE facebook group are part of its community, I guess the anti trans leader is a little more than some rando.

Lol, sure to folks with the same tin hag as you. The rest of us normals realize they’re just touting their reach.

what is a tin hag? some sort of insult i'm not familiar with i guess

Tin hat = conspiracy theorist

Oh the tin hat poster again, who can't even deliver an insult correctly. But seriously this is so typical with APE. They just go right to personal attacks.

From your tone, you sound like the poster who has been attacking other people upthread. Pot, meet kettle, as they say.

And perhaps the poster who doesn’t know how to quote posts.

Lol what a joke.

So wait, are these the new rules? If someone is in your group then the group officially agrees with all of that person’s views? Even the ones who try to politely distance themselves from them? Nobody these folks that MT is in AEM!!

Lame strawman. Nobody said said.

People have said they want MT to clearly state her position.

yeah look at all the gymnastics to try to distract us from that

Ms APE board member has dropped in twice now so we know Miranda's APE buddies are closely monitoring this thread.

but yet, still no clear affirmation of trans kids rights. It reminds me of the wishy washy non statement APE made on masks in winter 2022 while our school board stood up to our anti mask governor. Maybe Miranda wrote that too.

The leader of the Arlington Parent Coalition is in APE, the organization that Miranda founded and led. So given that APE is Miranda's base, this raises questions about Miranda's position on trans rights.

If Miranda is a strong supporter of trans kids using the bathroom of their affirmed gender, as you claim, why doesn't she say so publicly?

This is a lie.

What is a lie? I was in APE and saw the leader of the Arlington Parent Coalition in the group.

Lol so someone was in the Facebook group and you make assumption that they are tied w APE? Anyone can join the group and stay so long as they are respectful.

So … they were allowed to be in the group because they were there and they were being respectful? Where’s the lie?

You’re acting as though some rando in a Facebook group is somehow related to MT or APE leadership. It’s clear you’re a troll not engaging in good faith. Like many Facebook groups there is not a litmus test on who can join. And, no, I’m not part of APE leadership and I don’t even know who you are talking about but being in the Facebook group means nothing.

Yeah but Arlington Parents for Education is not just a Facebook group. It's much much more than that and you know it. It's incorporated as a 501c4. It has a website. It has positions that it develops after polling its group. It tourts its membership as the number in its Facebook group. It puts out press releases and has a whole press operation.

So yes, I do find it rather concerning that one of these members is the leader of the anti trans group in Arlington, especially when APE's school board candidate won't make a clear statement in favor of trans kids rights.

So what you are saying is that this is the single most important issue in APS?

DP. It’s a dealbreaker for many Arlingtonians.
