And who really cares who wins the state championship? Does that translate into anything but bragging rights for a few months? I mean, look at Yorktown.

Just let the girls play, work hard, enjoy themselves and let us parents be proud, love our kids and add to their joy.

Sure, they have a good shot at the state title (and may be a slight favorite), but so do Centerville, Madison, Robinson, and Battlefield. No matter which school you root for, winning will take hard work, focus, and a bit of luck. There are no easy paths to a state title. Let’s not pretend there is.

Taking the Battlefield approach of blowing out Region A teams will surely help Oakton!

What a shame. Langley has been such a powerhouse and has had such a run. Now they are a tier 2 team.

Robinson’s only competition in the region is Woodson and West Springfield. They should be the favorite to win their region. However they don’t match up well to the buzz saw that is Region D.

Agreed with pp. Langley not going anywhere as they lost all their main players last year, plus, their coach known for not getting the job done. They might win their division but will get eliminated come first or second round of regionals. Hate to say it, but it’s only going to get worse for them year after year.

Word is the Saxons were missing some players on the break. Robo also seemed to keep their starters in despite being up big. They looked to have a shot bench, so they may have been missing bench players too. Yorktown last year taught us to take spring break games with a grain of salt.

Robinson 13 - Langley 4 in a little spring break who’s left in town to play action.

The point was good publics can give competitive games to some of the spoiled brats at local privates, which really aren't at the level of national privates anymore save 1-2 teams a year.
