So the lefties decided that the change they wanted for now was a more "representative" TJ even though TJ will always be elitist, divisive, and anything but representative of the overall demographics of FCPS students.

You can give them what they want now, and they'll eventually be back with some other complaint to revise TJ admissions yet again, redraw the Langley boundaries in the name of "equity," get rid of AAP entirely, etc.

They are deeply invested in defending the continued existence of TJHSST under the new policy because they see it as a personal win, and they want to always be on the winning side. They don't like losing any more than anyone else; that's why someone like Sujatha Hampton, the education head of the Fairfax NAACP, is now completely losing her marbles now because the School Board didn't pick her preferred candidate for the next superintendent.

Every system has its flaws. And that is why there is scope to challenge and change within the framework of the Constitution- which presents an absolute boundary to those challenges and changes. And that is what is happening here.

You can argue that the Constitution promotes systemic racism and systemic classism. But this is not the forum to fight that battle.
