Let this story be a lesson to all parents of boys: train them and drill it into their heads: if you are on a trip with a gf and want to break up - drive her to a police station or an airport and leave her with security personnel and make sure there are cameras and police witnesses that you left her safe - in public
Do NOT let her walk off alone without witnesses or yiu will be assumed to be her killer for the rest of your life
The girl may have met a foul end - but I am quite certain there are multiple psychos on the loose between Utah and Yellowstone - far more than there are beautiful , vulnerable and not too bright blonde girls
I can’t speak to the vulnerable and not to bright aspects but clearly you haven’t been there if you think there aren’t many blonde girls!
I had never seen so many blondes in my life!

I agree with you BUT then he would have told police everything he knows. And he wouldn’t have stolen HER car and driven ALL THE WAY home with it and then not even cared when her parents called hysterical saying she’s missing.
They could have fight and she left. But in that case, he would have called the police.

His parents said he left on Tuesday with his backpack to go to the reserve, and haven't seen him since. What in God's name is wrong with them? They waited 3 days to tell their lawyer, who then told police. They didn't think of possible suicide given the state he was in? They didn't go to the reserve when he didn't return on Tuesday. Something very wrong with his parents. Is it possible Gabby was in the van with him when he returned to Florida on 9/1? Investigators received tips that they saw the couple at various stops heading away from Moab, Teton or wherever he left from.

Instead, assume that they wanted their son out of reach of FBI , you’d wait until he was safely out of the country then call the police and tell them - if you want to look for our son - go look on the moon ( we mean the densist most desolate terrain in FLA) best of luck …:now please get these people off of our lawn

Ridiculous. If Brian was a stranger to her or they had met on the road and he had showed up with HER van, no sign of her, and refusing to tell police exactly where he had seen her last, he would be in jail right now.
This is just another example of how intimate partner violence, overwhelmingly committed by men, against women, is minimized.
He should at least been under physical surveillance. You don't need a warrant for that.
I think there likely is evidence but “wiretapping” is virtually never done in these scenarios. “Sting” calls recorded by the other party on the line, yes (depends on the state but this is more doable). Physical surveillance from public space, yes however for the most part there just is not manpower to do it 24/7 for an indeterminate amount of time while the investigation is ongoing and sometimes people who are not being detained slip away. This isn’t that unusual or specific to this case. If anything you would expect that to have happened at this point. It is very unfortunate because I think that suicide is one possible outcome here.
