Serious question. Do you really think Penn has a beautiful campus? Situated on the train tracks and not in a great area?

I think it has some nice buildings, but not a great campus.

I actually think VA Tech is prettier. And I say this as a Cornell alum.

Wellesley (heavily wooded—felt like Robin Hood would drop out of a tree at any moment)

Richmond (very clean and well-maintained; spouse said “This is what a college SHOULD look like”)

Indiana (trees perfectly interspersed with nice buildings)

Texas Tech & Oklahoma State (surprisingly)

OMG! You did not just say Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas is a beautiful university!!! It has been rated as the most heinous Universities by several different publications including Sports Illustrated.

On a good day, the smell from the cattle feed lots sits on the ugliest campus in the US all day! Nothing quite like it in the US!!!!!

Of the schools we have toured in person, I would choose Duke, Yale, and Princeton.

Natural beauty vote Cornell for the gorges and Northwestern (only this super modern building you start in with lake view, stunning).

Also, Notre Dame and Brown, don’t love any particular buildings themselves for most, but the schools as a whole in their setting are super charming.

Based on what we saw, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Chicago, and Rice all had interesting, coherent, manageable campuses that were pleasant to the eye and felt like good places to go to college.

Penn was ok too but nothing special.

WashU felt like a country club if you're into that kind of thing. Or like a comfortable senior living facility for youngsters. I half-expected to see golf carts.

Northwestern and Columbia were dismal.

People do attend those colleges.

Stop being such an insufferable snob.
