How about everyone else?
Option 1 from the initial options but moving Wheaton Woods to WJ or Woodward (ideally WJ)
https://sites.google.com/mcpsmd.net/boundarystudyoptions/home/woodward-initial-options
Use the current options. Which do you like in order for A-D
I don't really like any of them. I dislike D the least, followed by A, B and C which I dislike the most.
I prefer status quo too, but reality is change is coming. I dislike D the most. Why do you dislike it the least?
Because it doesn't leave 3 DCC schools overcrowded while WJ and Woodward are left 20% empty
Woodward is meant to solve WJ issues of over crowding. You need a buffer because very soon WJ and Woodward will be at capacity. The master plan has housing congregate on the Pike and throughout WJ. Just take a drive through and see the development going up. And maybe one day Lerner will put something at White Flint.
And it's silly to say DCC pays more taxes than the West side of the county, bc that's not true.
Option D is the worst

This has always been the plan. Woodward was for WJ.

WJ is not elite or exclusive, it’s just RM with a slightly lower FARMS rate. WJ doesn’t have the estates of Potomac, the old money of Chevy Chase, or the elite of River Road in its catchment. The nicest homes in WJ are just $2M cookie-cutter homes that look like they were designed by a 5-year-old that were built in the last 10 years. WJ mostly consists of Rockville, Rockville pretending to be Bethesda, and parents with huge inferiority complexes because their neighborhoods are within biking distance of DCC schools.
Also, the entry price to WJ isn’t anywhere near $1M. You can still easily get into WJ with a budget of even $800k to $900k, and in fact, most families didn’t buy their homes for $1M+, they’re just sitting on newly founded equity.
I am an Einstein parent ( zoned for Wheaton) but - wow - what a disgusting comment. You must be really proud of yourself. Therapy is in order. Or church. Maybe both.
I was responding to a WJ parent who called your schools trash and said nobody wants to send your kids to them, thank you very much. My point is WJ has no reason to be snobby towards anyone when WJ isn’t viewed very well among Whitman circles. Sometimes you have to be harsh to humble people.
