Thanks for posting. They are doing a double colonnade. Any two-bit architect would know this design is atrocious. Let his name be tarnished.

Everyone please reach out to the local bodies to demand they scale down the project.

I don't know how anyone can argue this is "Classical" architecture when the proportions to its surroundings are so asymmetrical.

MAGA's idiocy is unprecedented. The renovation focused on upgrading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, improving security infrastructure, and modernizing offices.

Literally off-the-charts. You should be embarrassed.

Plus they did things like, get permits, approval by architects, designs - none of which the WH has done.

On the plus side, most of the GOP was on the golf course patio replica basking in the asbestos breeze.

Thank you for this.

You're welcome, it gives me hope for the future!

Yeah, that image of the one partially demolished wall of one wing of the White House will play real well with people who don't usually pay attention to politics.

Fixed it for you. Get your facts straight.

Wow this didn’t age well. This is why I never believe a MAGA.

And the MAGA shoulder shrug is not persuasive either. If it’s really no big deal, why talk about it?

Anyone else remember when MAGA went absolutely apesh*t when Cracker Barrel had a makeover?

A key principal of classical architecture is symmetry. How in the world is symmetry achieved if one appendage is amputated and replaced with a monstrosity?

This project is so gross. Who doesn’t involve historical commissions before demolishing part of a historic public building???

I can’t get Apple News but I went to their website and it looks like a fake business. The website is like a “coming soon” page, with just a few images and most them this nasty ballroom and plans. The kind of it’s you’d throw up fast if you had to look like a business.

I’m sorry. Here is free article accessible to all:

MAGA's are too dumb to see that every single US president has been a faithful steward of the White House until now.

They don't see that his wrecking ball is one that is coming for their own prosperity.

Note the minor difference between Don's Destruction and redoing electrical and plumbing and other aging White House infrastructure. Neither the West Wing nor the East Wing were injured during the process.

"The White House Big Dig was the name used in press reports to describe a multi-year construction project at the White House that began in September 2010 and temporarily concluded in 2012, with a second phase planned for the future. According to the General Services Administration (GSA), the $376-million project, which involved a multi-story excavation adjacent to the West Wing, was to replace electrical wiring and update air conditioning. A second phase of the project, with an unannounced start date, will involve a similar excavation adjacent to the East Wing. Funds for the White House Big Dig were allocated by a congressional appropriation made in late 2001.""
