NP here. But I think it contributes to the overwhelming privilege this woman has due to her genetics (white, UC, regionally well known family name, etc) for her to get initially arrested on probably what was a lesser charge than she should have (unlawful undressing as opposed to a sex crime), to have the ability to get that dismissed on appeal (she was initially convicted in absentia, she didn’t show up for the initial trial so she was found guilty), and then for the coverage of such a heinous more recent crime to be so little. If she was practically anyone else, she’d still be in jail for what she did in 2019 and on the sex offender registry. So yeah, her genetics matter here.

I think it's particularly shocking to most people when a person with many advantages/opportunities and considerable wealth engages in such horrific behaviors and crimes. Shows the strength of genetics and mental disturbance.

Exactly. And it could have led to compelled evaluation and treatment. There are few opportunities to intervene re: mentally ill adults, this was a powerful one. Her family is directly responsible for that appeal and the PR attempts on here to cast THEM as heroic victims is disgusting.

Can we talk about how online porn/chat sites also play a role here? without those forums she might not have gone that far. they bear some responsibility.

No, but the internet certainly enhanced their ability to mutually reinforce their illness and exchange CSA materials, thus creating a market for it. And online porn can absolutely have a role in creating and maintaining obsessions.
