If you look through prosecutions of people selling classified, the people selling really didnt make much money at all, certainly not enough for any normal person to think represents a good risk/reward proposition. Trump is a wealthy man and can always make money selling his time as a speaker, etc in the same way that prior presidents did. Espionage is for nobodies, middling professionals usually no higher than GG-15s.
Oh, I don't think he is looking for money in return - he's looking for foreign help for another win in 2024.

he likes to feel important. why did he release the name of a person in IC to the Russians? it isn't for the $$. it is to feel like a big shot.

Were you around for the last 5 1/2 years, lol?
He took the documents because:
A) They contain secrets that are valuable to foreign entities and he could sell/trade the information
B) They are of some value and could be sold on the black market to collectors
C) They contain incriminating information that Trump either wants to bury or wants to use to blackmail someone else
D) They contain evidence of some of his most embarrassing episodes that he would like people to forget
E) He wants them for his own personal collection
F) He just feels entitled
Nobody stopped him for the same reasons that he wasn’t removed from office. The same reasons he could do things like forcefully removing peaceful protesters for a photo op or separating children from their parents at the border without any plan for reunification or taking a joyride around Walter Reed in a confined space with Secret Service agents while suffering from a raging case of OG Covid or not not releasing his taxes or violating the emoluments clause every which way…the list is endless.
+1 I posted up thread.. he still thinks he's the @real POTUS so, why wouldn't he feel entitled to take them? He still uses the Presidential seal; he insists he won. He's 100% delusional, and now a criminal by his own law he signed.
He thinks they are his documents. He doesn’t understand how anything that he had in his office is not his personal property. He’s really that simple.

And, that turned out so well for the liberals.
Omfg. That was real, too. You’re brainwashed.
PP still refuses to acknowledge import of Paul Manafort sharing nonpublic polling information (and who knows what else) with Konstantin Kiliminik, a Russian agent, and the quid pro quo of the presidential pardon. Manafort was brought into the campaign for a very specific reason. He then was rewarded for abiding by the code of omertà when he didn’t flip on the family.
+1 I mean.. what were all those Tump pardons about, then?

Who turned and would know where those documents are hidden?
Did Don Jr or Ivanka secretly cut a deal?
Was it Jared?
I was just coming on to ask, as just saw it reported. Definitely not Ivanka. She's evil. But, I'm sure heads are rolling in Trumplandia.
Scary too, that one person, who may or may not have clearance had access.
He was storing some of these documents in the basement storage room with beach chairs. He didn’t keep some highly sensitive classified documents under lock and key until June, when he was specifically instructed to and a padlock was put on the door. Many of the employees who staff his various properties are foreign because Trump wants cheap labor. The situation was a complete train wreck.
Indeed.
It's likely that for several years at least Trump has had crucial national security documents accessible to hundreds if not thousands of people (all Mar a Lago staff and visitors, not to mention staff and visitors to his other residences).
Foreign governments and spies have been targeting him knowing he is a weak link with no scruples who would sell out his own mother if the paycheck was high enough.
We will be find out damage that resulted from his criminality for decades to come. And there will be countless impacts of his irresponsibility coupled with lack of ethics and morals that will never be known.
We're in upside down land and whether or not, at the end of this crazy era, the US will still hold on to any shred of its democracy or rule of law is still to be seen.
