She had already said a lot of things on tape and some of it had been aired in snippets on previous days.
Why not just wait a few days until August, as the committee had previously planned?
Her testimony of secondhand gossip has already fallen apart. The agents who were actually in the car said she’s lying. Oops.

Instead, what we’re seeing is just more political theater at a time when Americans are concerned about more important things: 40-year-high inflation, record-high gas prices, skyrocketing crime, a porous border bringing in millions of illegal immigrants and record numbers dying of fentanyl. And a war in Ukraine that isn’t ending anytime soon.
There’s a “been there, done that” feel to all of this. Donald Trump was already impeached over his rhetoric that helped fuel the Capitol riot 17 months ago. More importantly, unlike President Nixon during the Watergate hearings nearly 50 years ago, which 71 percent of the country tuned in for, Trump is no longer in office.
Most of the people here breathlessly commenting on every aspect of the Kangaroo Kourt just do no represent the majority of the American people.
I disagree. I think EVERYONE is talking about it. DCUM isn't some microcosm.
No one in my extended circle is discussing it. Nothing about yesterday changed it. In fact, most did not see it.
And that is why trump supporters hang on - the refuse to even look at the evidence. It’s sad but understandable from a psychological perspective: their self-worth and identity were wrapped up
In trumpian concepts and they do have egos strong enough to admit they were wrong (or worse, conned).
Didn’t vote for Trump. This is where you LWNJ got it all wrong. You think all GOP supports Trump.
If you don't support Trump, you're no longer Republican. The party is his now.
And if you're deliberately ignoring the commission, you're just afraid of the truth.
You are really a fool if you believe the Republican Party is his now. Step away from the LWNJ websites and get to know some actual republicans. You think we are all pro life gun carrying nutcases. You don’t want discussions you are the ones who want anarchy!

Your fixation on what model vehicle he was using is weird. If Trump was being peddled around on a tandem bike, that wouldn't make this situation any better.
It makes a difference because the 'beast' has a shield that would have prevented him from reaching the driver

The ratings of these hearings are deplorable. The vast majority of the country has moved on. This grandstanding non both sides is wasting time and money. The country has moved on and is worried about inflation, crumbling infrastructure, and high gas prices. They really do not care as much as the small minority of posters here seem to think they do or should.
Completely false. Millions are watching. Millions want accountability.
MILLIONS are not watching. The ratings do not reflect.
They are watching. They are watching streaming which isn’t recorded by the ratings.
For every 1 person watching tv I know 20 who watch later via streaming.
Wrong. Nielsen +7 accounts for streaming.
No one I know on the left or right is watching nor do they care one bit!
You can keep telling yourself that until the cows come home but it simply is not true. I and everyone I know cares deeply and is following the hearings. Polls prove you wrong.
We are the suburban mothers who catch up on news when we can. We are also a major voting block.
Even the note she said she wrote and identified as her own handwriting is NOT true.
It's not? It's false? Have you read the thread?
I have. And this is my summation:
Trump tried to carjack the beast from way way in the back seat (stretch limo) and to do so, turned into elastic man to grab the driver’s clavicle. The men who have served four different presidents without an infraction are now lying sacks of crap (though clearly good enough to serve Obama) and this young woman is a hero. Did I sum that up right?
If you are talking about the Secret Service they have a history of being drunk “lying sacks of crap”. The SS personal involve are all trump loyalists and were replaced as soon as trump was forced from office. These same SS agents were not trusted by Pence. Pence refused to get into the car controlled by SS agents. He was tipped out. It is interesting the no one has come out on record from the secret service? Also why are you lying about the vehicle. It was an SUV. There is video of it.
Now if you want to throw shade we should question the SS agents who disobeyed a direct order from the president. He wanted to go to the Capitol. The SS has no authority to over rule the president. Too bad for you and your fail insurrection. Would have been a lot more killed if trump had made it to the Capitol.
These same SS agents served Obama as well. And two other Presidents besides Trump.
Ornato is a Trump political operative.
"Trump installed Tony Ornato -- his former lead US Secret Service agent --- as deputy chief of staff for operations in part bc FLOTUS --- then chief preferred him over Max Miller. But the move unnerved West Wing aides who knew the Secret Service was supposed to be non-political."
https://twitter.com/hugolowell/status/1518329760547540995
----
"[S]enior Secret Service official Anthony Ornato was detailed to White House as a Trump political adviser. He's now back at USSS."
https://twitter.com/jkuhnhenn/status/1518321475173994498
We don’t know what Ornato’s angle is because he has not made any public statements yet. It’s best not to assume anything. He’s obviously testified. So if she said anything that contradicted his testimony he’d be defending himself from perjury. He’s not. Who knows show these “sources” are?
All these guys are going to understate what Trump did and said because they all want to stay tight with the Republican patronage network. The truth doesn’t get you sweet high-paying gigs.
They aren’t going to lie under oath though.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So the GOP in the House and Senate who knew all of this was planned, and were part of the planning and still didn't vote to impeach Trump....go figure.
THEY SHOULD ALL BE IN JAIL.
I don’t think jail is enough. They conspired to overthrow the government.
A firing squad is the punishment for sedition or treason.

You are right. DCUM isn't some microcosm. It is a far left bubble.
I think you don't know the meaning of microcosm.
Everyone ISN'T talking about this. They are working on taking care of their families with far less money in their pockets.
And, trying to keep them safe.
