How so? Europe and the US are not going to lift a finger to save Ukraine. Sanctions aren't going to do much. OPEC has more loyalty to its own members than outsiders, and Saudi Arabia won't budge on oil, which means Europe has a gas problem, since it gets its gas from Russia. China is in Russia's corner purely to act as counterweight against the West, which it wants to destabilize, on its way to becoming the world's next superpower.

Remove nukes and extractive resources from Russia and they are nothing.

On Russia’s part, this looks like amateur hour. So, they want to start a war by having proxies bait Ukraine into responding and calling it genocide? Then, the proxies want to force the male townsfolk to volunteer for the army? Then, when insufficient townsfolk (men don’t signup and women and children don’t leave) get whipped up, they fire on their own towns to claim Ukrainian aggression? Is this how a superpower starts a war? Putin seems as incompetent as Trump.

In this case, I think it’s Putin looking for a way out. Sure, the US and Europe don’t want a war, but I think Putin has much more to lose. Even China has backed away from support.

Both the President and Vice President have stated multiple times military force won’t be employed to protect Ukraine.

Biden may be worried about his sons investments in Ukraine

Other sources reporting that the go ahead has been given. Biden is cutting his trip to Delaware short. Who knows. This could be another head game from Putin.
