A lot of cognitive dissonance going on, for sure. Mostly nerves, probably.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:What is a “26.37 ranking”??
Precisely. Thank you for understanding the absurdity of lists that don’t exist.
But lists do exist. The rankings are out and cap blue 2028s are barely top 25 and will get worse as other teams with better organizations improve. Rough, you were told that you guys would be awesome and in top brackets…yeesh.

Pretty obvious who it is.

Maryland’s dominance is slipping: only three of the top ten teams are from MD.
That’s actually pretty typical if you know anything about the HS lax trends. The other areas start to combine talent to singular teams in an aren’t and MD stays spread among many teams. Only Hero’s and M&D are in the top ten at the 27 and the 26 age group. The parity between the top 15 gets much less as well once all of the girls have the advantage of playing consistently thorough their HS teams and puberty has leveled out as well. Crush doesn’t even exist at the 26 and 27 age groups and coppermine didn’t pick up steam until the 28 class either. Maryland still spreading talent across Hero’s, M&D, Maryland United, Coppermine, Crush, and Skywalkers. All of which are ranked in the top 16. (10 spots above Capital)
Pretty defensive here. PP made no reference to Capital. But it makes sense a club that only came into its own about six years ago and pulls primarily / exclusively from the DMV and has an even playing rotation model would have a lower ranking compared to others that have been in existence for decades and lean heavily toward playing starters for ranking purposes. What doesn’t make sense is that a sport MD clubs put on the map now only has three teams in the top ten. Also “top 16” isn’t a thing lol.
At this point it is hard for teams to make large jumps either way as they are placed in brackets with teams close to them in rankings (and thus the math points needed to move). I do think SW and Coppermine will flip rankings but it will be hard for Cap to make a big enough jump to be in the top couple of brackets for recruiting summer but coaches will still be on their sidelines due to history just like SW 2027 even though they were their lowest ranked team in years.
