People:

You are blessed to be in area with 4 ECNL clubs within driving distance. You really have no clue. Pick a club and move on.

^^ I think the answer to that depends alot on the age group. Freshman and sophomores are the most hurt since their recruiting lies in the balance, middle schoolers would be more likely to jump I would think.

I'm hearing the DPL. The DPL was the feeder league for the DA. I'm hearing that all the DA girl's teams first choice is the ECNL, but if they not being let in, they will all go to the DPL together.

Together never happens. The top girls will be picked off. Everyone does what’s best for their kid and family.

I agree that this will still cause a lot of issues with some clubs retention, but where do all of these kids go? There are several clubs here, but this is not the case all over the country. The stakeholders at these clubs are going to want to do what's best for them and that's to keep the doors open. How do you do that, you have the new Elite league that most of the current DA clubs is already familiar with. I'm not saying this will happen, but I am hearing a lot about this DPL thing. If you look at their website FCV is already affiliated with the DPL.
Yes I can see DPL becoming a strong league. You can get more info on that in the SOCAL discussions. That is where the biggest WAR was waged between DA and ECNL and DA was definitely winning out, but the rest of the country, the DA was losing to ECNL. DPL will be an elite league, but will not be ECNL, which will be the top league. Players from DPL league would probably be scouted to play for an ECNL team down the line, when tryouts are done and things settle. So you and DD would have to ask yourselves, do I jump ship from a club that does not have ECNL, into a club/program that offers ECNL and make my way up? (Assuming your DD did not make the top ECNL team), or do you stay with your club and hope for the best, if your goal is to play in college. Nothing wrong with playing good soccer in the other leagues. Just would not be the best of the best. Which, everyone has to have a goal or dream. That’s what keeps the girls working hard and coming back.

I think they'll go to where it's best for them (location, competition, want). Every club is going to generically get stronger, because there's one very high level of competition gone (DA). This would probably be a trickle down thing, with the lowest level clubs, struggling clubs seeing the littlest gain.

I am hearing that the ECNL has taken all the clubs they're taking nationwide. They don't need to add more clubs. Especially if they believe they're currently setup to grab the displaced players, which is going to lead the other clubs scrambling to find a way to keep the talent there. I know Tophat in Georgia, the number 1 all girls club in the country was denied entry, I know that IMG Academy in Florida was denied entry. The ECNL for the most part is done taking clubs.

They go back to pre-2107 and reestablish their connection with Mclean. Not hard to figure out.

I know coaches have all reached out to their teams claiming whatever they decide will be great and just to sit tight. But I also know coaches are contacting players...

I agree. But they won’t play CCL.
DD’s coach told her team that she would coach them for one more year. DD loves her coach. So question is, stay because of coach or try to go to a club with ECNL?

Yeah, a parent was on earlier and said they had been told they were rejected. My guess is that with 4 NOVA ECNL clubs that one or more of them blocked adding a 5th.

Heard Arlington told they have to bring both boys and girls if they want ECNL. They don’t want to bring boys. Guess they will sacrifice girls so boys can play in yet another league that will fail in 3 years.

This would make sense. I have heard that several teams want Arlington in ECNL to raise the level of the boys competition ioncluding the newcomers obviously who are taking a big risk on the boys side themselves, and others (e.g. McLean, BRYC) do not want them in at all - hoping to benefit from Arlington's players, especially girls, moving. So I could totally see the ECNL clubs, as a group, saying "both or none".

And I think Arlington would try very hard to pursue the new MLS league route for the boys before agreeing to that.

Omg. Arlington, will not, be in ECNL. Arlington, will not, be in MLS league.

If you are saying they will be, post your evidence.

Early days. You never know what will happen...it’s youth soccer! Whatever will makes the most money will likely happens.
