Until my 50's I thought that the posted speed limit meant the slowest speed you should drive.

Nor do they use the same funeral services. Found this out when my white father died and used a black funeral home. His family from rural VA was surprised, to say the least.

Yes, to all of the above, and we sing our gospel songs differently. We yell obnoxiously and dance everywhere, our white Christian believers like Christian rock. But my eyes are opened to the entire world of Christian music now, thanks to the internet and not being limited to Southern Baptist churches where everyone gets the holy ghost and starts sweating at 12:30PM.

Not all black Christians are Protestants. You were this many days old when you found that out.

Wait what? Did I miss the Protestant part?

They can be Catholic. A Protestant is a non Catholic Christian.

Pp here, my dad was black catholic, mom was black southern baptist

When I was standing in line to go in to cafeteria one night in college in Southern California, I overheard a girl in front of me say to her group of friends (after reading the posted menu), “Oh my God, this school is so annoying— they have soup du jour like, every night!”

Valley Girls are real, y’all.

Had you ever taken a standardized test and had to choose a race? White & Hispanic are always separate options

Not true. Hispanics can be white, black, etc. it’s an ethnicity not a race.

Can'r recall if I already posted this. I was 20 when I realized they give the weather right before you land. I had been on many flights but I always used to sleep till the gate. I commented to the woman next to me how nice it was and she asked if it was my first flight. LOL

Many people don't like their parents. This was a new one for me.

DP. It’s not a race, though. An accurate form would ha e Hispanic as an ethnicity separate from race. I’m AA AND Hispanic. A friend is white AND Hispanic. She was perplexed when she moved here from Venezuela and was suddenly not white anymore just because of her name and accent.

They are considered white. They are also considered black. Such is the difference between race and ethnicity. At school kids enroll as Hispanic then have to choose black or white.

I learned that burned sugar becomes caramel. We burned some sugar by mistake and everyone else knew what it resulted in except me. Caramel! How crazy: burned sugar! This is probably why I almost failed chemistry in HS.

No need to learn that. Hardly the fashion these days.
