Sorry but that has not been my experience. You are doing more to undermine the coaches with your statement.
The other statements are in-line with my experience. Coaches do have favorites and I can girls and their parents decided that if they are not receiving fair treatment that they will move to the DA platform. That does not say anything negative about CW's coaching abilities other than those not favored feel the situation is unfair.
this board!no wonder, it's all the kids and parents?
10 players leave an ECNL team. For 3 different other teams. Let that sink in. That's half your team! They did not follow a coach to another team like other threads here. 10 players leaving an Elite Clubs National League team says nothing other than about the girls and parents? They ALL left because they felt situation was unfair? All 10 players just up and left to 3 different teams according to this thread? check blindspots much?

Clyde had nothing to do with the players departures, he took over the team after the players left. The team is now one of the best teams in this area.
Wrong. He coached the team at the U-13 ECNL age group. The departures took place after that season when 10 players left for the DA.
Wow, after losing 10 players, the team is ranked No. 1 in Virginia! Usually, teams nosedive after so many players depart. Why did the team improve so much?
Perhaps the ECNL Conference just isn’t that good?
In ECNL for that year they are very weak. The team does not do well when it plays anyone good outside the conference.
They are also ranked No. 1 in Virginia by gotsoccer so they must do well in the non-ECNL tournaments (e.g., Jefferson Cup) given that ECNL standings are not taken into account by gotsoccer.
DA teams don't play in tournaments. McLean would get schooled by a few local teams.
It is so easy to spot the fools here. They self-identify when ever they post something.
Idiot, Arlington just played in CASL and got schooled by Bethesda and two non-ECNL/DA teams.
FCV got schooled by PDA in last years Penn Fusion tournament.
Baltimore Celtic beat a weak WSVA team and played WSMD to a draw at the VDA showcase. VDA finished in last place.
Please get your facts together before trying to argue. You look foolish.
VDA is an ECNL club![]()

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Why is the Mclean ECNL 2017-2018 u13 2005 team a hot topic?
At that time, there was only ECNL for them and enough has changed since then with teams and leagues. Why the rehash of what Clyde Watson did or didn't do in 2017-2018?
He obviously didn't do that a great job that year if half the team departed regardless of current success, so hopefully he's learned from that and the current parents are happy.
Good Luck Mclean!
Who knows? It didn't seem to hurt McLean though and for the players that left, good luck to them. Win/win for McLean who weeded out players they didn't need and for the players, who found clubs that are happier at.
