He is not the same man as 35 years ago, but there was no self reflection and no admitting that it was WRONG. Black Virginians handed him his victory. We can and do better now and we should.

+1 I think that about anyone, although I'd say it would be almost impossible to have a political career after committing rape and/or murder.

One of the pictures on the same page is Ralph in front of his early 80s Chevy Corvette convertible sports car. That's not a cheap car, so I don't think he grew up poor.

I assure you this was discovered longggggg before Friday. There was an episode of House of Cards where a fixer discovered an old record and then used it / the cleanup of it for leverage for $ / job / favor. This is standard MO.

I think the “he apologized, let’s move on, problem solved” or the “we all make mistakes! He was a youth!” posters should identify their race when they post.

I’m black. My Grandmother still occasionally talks about how as a child, her mother hid her and her siblings in the back of the house when the Klan rode by at night. She visibly winces when recollecting these stories. This isn’t just a photo. It isn’t just an abstraction. This is REAL for so many people. And the fact there are people out here defending him? (Especially white liberals) makes me disgusted.
