This thread is humorous! VDA will run the Mid-Atlantic conference (which isn't saying much) in the long term. And making it out of the Mid-Atlantic really isn't impressive. Let's see who out of FVU, VDA, Charlotte SA, and who ever brings up the rear at 4th place can make it back to Richmond for the playoff finals. Additionally I hope ALL girls from ALL clubs that want to can find a home at the next level.

However to engage in this nonsense conversation....yes FVU beat VDA 4 to 1 in league play, yes FVU beat VDA in the Bethesda Cup, and yes VDA beat FVU in the cup first round. Does any of this matter outside of bragging rights at this point NO. both teams will head to San Diego. The conversation will be will FVU allow pick a team to drop 10+ points on them and make it out of pool play or will VDA figure out out to compete with teams from the west and make it out of pool play.

For 09s

1. VDA (Full roster and tough to break into, longer drive depending where you are moving to).
2. Arlington (On the up, Full roster, injured players returned, currently playing as a team)
3. Union (Same as above but have at least 20 on roster, politics at Union is on par with the worst).
4. NVA (In decline, controversial new/old coach, full roster, politics are not as bad as Union and some others).
5. VRSC GA (Small gap in talent between top 4 and VRSC, likely GA Playoff team, Good Coach, Club is still unproven and political)

6. Everyone else

Every age is different.

Same for 2010s???

1. VDA (despite losing 4-1 to Union, why not?)
2. Union (politics at Union is on par with the worst)
3. Arlington (suprise mid table finish, what happened NVA thought this would be you?)
4. SYC (large gap in talent between top 2 and everyone else, with ECNL migrations imminent the gap will shrink here first)
5. VRSC (Club is still unproven and political but still a better option than NVA at this age)

On par with the worst? What does that even mean?
Putting VDA 2010 over union 2010 is pretty funny. Please let us know what you are smoking?
Good to know there are no politics at VDA. But explain again why both of the new director’s teams are getting worse as the season has went on.

How are the 09s and 10s getting worse? The 09s are 11-0-3 (2nd in league standings & 3-0-1 outside league schedule and beat Union for Mid Atlantic Cup) and the 10s are 12-1-1 (1st in league standings & 4-0 outside league schedule and beat Union for Mid Atlantic Cup)...that's 1 loss between the two teams across 3 different competitions (league, league cup and ECNL St. Louis)

4-0 outside league schedule? Check that again please. Look at Bethesda Showcase in particular.

Nobody beat anybody for the Mid-Atlantic Cup. They had pool play among groups of three. The four winners of each group meet in Raleigh Feb 1/2 to determine the winner of the Mid-Atlantic Cup and a spot in ECNL Playoffs.

This is enlightening. Do we have an insider from SYC here, spill the tea which clubs will be losing bench players to your team? Or did I fall for a troll post

Can you explain what you mean by politics when you mention Union and NVA?
Are there no politics with VDA? Are you not concerned that VDA have got worse over the year?

What are the politics at VDA?

There are none because the new ECNL Director doesn't play around.

There is zero concern with VDA getting worse over the last year, they're the only ECNL club (as a whole across all their teams) that got better from last year to this year, which was largely due to them winning the FCV lottery. FCV was the top GA club in the area, it imploded and 95% of the players, not on the 06/07 team, left. A good chunk went to VRSC and a some/most of the top tier players went to VDA.

The concern should be the only way VDA can get better is by recruiting players. If I’m a young player at VDA (2011 or 2012) or vsa or pwsi, I would be concerned that the best players for every age group have barely played for VDA.

This isn’t a concern. VDA teams have really strong players from PWSI/VSA and other clubs. The same can be said for all NOVA ECNL teams. I’m familiar with the teams as DD plays for one. Her team has added players from other clubs every year (like every ECNL team) but there’s still a large group of players originally selected at U13.

I think the real concern is what did VDA do to you?

I agree with you that this is not a concern as all the clubs need to improve their roster.
I think the VDA concern should be have they ever had a player perform well in college?

Why is that a concern of any club? They have zero control/impact/anything over what happens after a player leaves their club. Performance in college isn't dependent on what club a player played for growing up.

I don’t see many 2012 or 2011 girls leaving their current ECNL team to go to VDA. Curios if there are any 2012 or 2011 GA or RL girls that will be brought in.

Where would 2011 players go? Aside from Arlington. NVA and Union are bad and behind VDA and Arlington.
