Covid was unprecedented and snow days have always existed. Comparing the two is preposterous.

2019-2020 NOT SURE
2020-2021 1 (ONLINE SCHOOL)
2021-22022 5
2022-2023 0
2023-2024 3 AND COUNTING
There have been 3 for the 2023-2024 school year?
counting on Friday and Election day in March.
Election day in March? Are you seriously counting that as a snow day?

This is beyond tired at this point. By your logic, anyone who doesn’t homeschool hates their kids. If they really loved their kids they’d want to be home together all the time.
Did it ever occur to you that some people hate the scrambling that occurs when last minute changes are made? We don’t all have jobs where we can just work from home or call out when school is delayed or closed. We all adapt, but that doesn’t make it not stressful. Not everyone has a grandparent or neighbor who can just watch our kids on short notice.
Being stressed is valid! But so are people arguing that it’s unsafe for busses full of kids to drive on icy roads.

+1 I appreciate the correct response as well. Hopefully, they will use the same measured approach when deciding what to do for this Friday.
I am sure the bus drivers who were in accidents with a bus full of kids, the kids that had to transfer buses in the middle of traffic, the neighborhoods where buses were unable to pick anyone up, and the poor bus driver who was hurt falling on black ice all agree that it was reasonable and measured.
Yes, accidents happen. Plenty of people not affiliated with FCPS slipped on the snow/ice this past week. Surely you did not expect FCPS to cancel school today, right? Because there is still a ton of slippery ice out there. Or who knows... maybe you want FCPS to cancel school whenever there is any visible ice and snow?
If you're going to make an argument, maybe don't go to the silly extreme to make it. Because that is not what the PP, and others, are saying. But I'm sure you already know that.
