The arrogance is striking, look at this "we really should change those rules" post re: the Council and legislative process rules.

How exactly does that work and why does it involve Comet Ping Pong again?

Please call or draft a short email to your reps - your Ward Councilmember, the chair, Mendelson, and the 4 At Large members. All 6 represent you.

If in Ward 3, Frumin may need a bit of a push given his behavior during the vote for Pinto's June bill.

Can anyone on this thread name one thing in this bill that promises to significantly reduce crime? One thing.

I'll bite. The bill will allow police to pursue vehicles suspected of a crime. Imagine that? Expecting to be pursued by the police if you commit a crime? A fact that Campaign Zero has branded "Killing Car Chase Suspects is now legal." Defund folks went too far, and the hyperbole they are now using reflects how very on their heels they are.

That's right. Single family housing and plenty of free surface parking will save Chinatown.

I feel really badly for all the people who bought "lifestyle condos" there, retirees etc. They've been done wrong..the single minded focus on building, building, building more without ANY attention to quality of life issues for DC residents is a debacle .

This is clearly an activist trolling or astroturfing, may not even be a DC resident.

But for anyone with a sincere interest in learning more about the bill. Of course, the activists are pushing to further weaken laws, as Biden and Congress stopped last year, or to do nothing. Unacceptable.

Widespread coverage of crime in DC has gone international. Should probably expect tourism revenue to dip as well.

It's working in Baltimore, it's just common sense...they need to reboot The Wire, base it in Chinatown and focus on the USAO and AG.

It's not just Graves, it's the office. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/04/politics/black-prosecutors-dc-gun-cases/index.html

Good. We don't need another chain restaurant in Chinatown.

I work in Chinatown and cannot believe the decline. It’s a shame because it used to be great around here.

Taco Bamba was amazing here. This neighborhood was amazing. Now it is scary and there is nobody to turn to to help.

We let the anarchists run the city, and now we lost everything.
