Maybe you need to braoden your social circle?
I get it, but in reality, at Michigan, virtually every single program/department within the University is top 10, or even top 5 in the country. UVa cannot come close to saying the same thing.
The UVA boosters in the forum really need to take a step back.
On the west coast, Michigan is considered around the level of Berkeley and UCLA. UVA is not, though I can’t speak for the south. No one would think of it as equivalent to a lower tier Ivy here.

Or are they now fighting it out with VA Tech for rankings? Pretty sure VA Tech has a 70% acceptance rate. Way to go Terps!
Not yet but, UMD jumped significantly while UVA went down a bit to 26-27 and also on the Publics' list from 3rd to 4th behind UNC.

PP really thinks that TJ is the only school in this country with STEM geniuses, with its whopping one Regeneron finalist in the last three years!
TJ still gets the best talent of any high school and they flock to UVA. If Duke was better why wouldn't more kids from TJ go to Duke?

Hi, troll! VT's acceptance rate is 57%... but you knew that.

In terms of UofM, your friends are clearly not in engineering.
+1 Depends on your major.
The vast majority of comparable majors/disciplines at Michigan are either equal to or most often ranked higher than UVA. In my social circle when top academic schools are mentioned, Michigan is often brought up. UVA is never discussed, except as a southern party school.
I'm waiting for the Rhodes Scholar VA booster to appear.
That’s all they got left at the moment. Even KF at UNC is ranked higher than UVA McIntire, now that the latter has dropped 4 spots to number 12.
UVA rose from 25 in the nation to 24z much celebrating at UvA tonight
