NL sent their A team to the Mid-Atlantic League at Univ of DE instead and they still only won 1 game, lost 2 and tied 1 against Washington Wolves. All those “D1” commits and they only scored 4 goals scored. Oooooof!
The bias here is pretty blatant. No consideration given for the opponents. Looking at tourney machine, seems pretty impressive that NL held WC to two goals.
Not sure why your focus is on NL. Why not bring up the fact that Metro had several DI commits on their U19 and failed to bring home hardware? Why not focus on the fact that NL couldn’t get past a DI Wolves commit? Why not mention HUSEL also failed to bring home hardware?
The more disturbing part is the fact that these are kids playing. You are literally trashing the performance of children. If this is the kind of toxicity you choose to bring into everyday life, then I send you thoughts and prayers and hope that neither one of your DD are ever subject to the type of scrutiny you are putting on, I’ll say it again, children.

I keep hoping this thread dies because I cannot for the life of me figure out what adults would possibly think it is appropriate to call out other teams performance in this way. No team gets better by dragging down others.
We know nice, hard working girls on every single club in the DMV. Why would I want to celebrate or make a public spectacle of their failure?

Washington Wolves look like they did fairly well. Better competition this weekend at Shooting Star Jamboree (i.e. WC Eagles, Metro HC, Saints, Husel and Hammers)
Many teams are dealing with absences due to schedule conflicts. College Connection and USAFH have a partnership, yet many sites had Nexus last weekend. Additionally, more college coaches attend Showdown than Jamboree which is why the competition at Showdown is always tougher. Plus, tournaments like Showdown are a highlight for those looking to be recruited. The real test will be RCCs.
You just know this is a Freedom PP because Freedom went to Shooting Star Showdown (formerly called SS Easter) and PP said it’s a “tougher” tournament. This is not true at all. DD has attended both Showdown and Jamboree in the past and Jamboree is the better showcase - more college coaches in attendance and better teams. IYKYK. Wouldn’t be surprised if next year Freedom goes to Jamboree instead.
OP here. Not a Freedom parent. Compare the college coaches for Showdown vs Jamboree for this year specifically and I think you’ll see that Showdown had more. Additionally many colleges, DI - DIII, had clinics this weekend so many strong field hockey programs were not represented.
It is a well known fact that many teams, WC as an example, do not send their top players to Showdown or Jamboree. They send the players still looking for commitments. I stand by my statement - RCCs is the true test of the strength of the club for our region.
What’s sad is the top clubs (Freedom, WC) don’t send their top teams (not even their top 2 teams) but small clubs like Washington Wolves, HUSEL, Hymax do send their top talent and they still can’t win the pool they are in. I agree these events or for individuals to showcase for recruitment and not about team winning but you would think local clubs could medal when top clubs aren’t sending their best talent.

Do they even have more than one D1 commit?

Voice of reason here - Showdown and Jamboree are both good showcases for college coaches to watch and evaluate players looking to get recruited. It is not about the strength of the club that is important, although winning looks good, it is about teams and individuals playing well in front of coaches. No need to mention RCCs - nobody cares.

Many of those commits are not playing in this tournament.
