It's in the country's interest not to borrow trillions of dollars a year. Dems should have done what GOP is doing now, when Trump was President. But they just want more and more government.

So are the dems getting deal on immigration and gun control? No they are not. The dems before the negotiations started agreed to cuts. Now it’s just a matter of how much. This is a loss for the dems because they do not understand how to use power and do not understand who they are dealing with.

Actually, it isn't just the US system, it is the entire global economy. And who benefits if it crashes? Russia and China.

So we can see why the GOP is doing this. In fact, it has already had impact. By Biden cancelling his post G7 meetings, China is filling a vacuum that the US would otherwise be occupying.

That is the constitutional amendment threshhold, which has nothing to do with the debt ceiling, despite the chattering about the 14th Amendment.

All Biden has to do is say the US is honoring its debts, and continue to pay them off.

That is his constitutional duty, despite the "debt ceiling" rhetoric that is, under normal circumstances, unconstitutional.
