So he himself clearly says Mur-dock? I don't think I've heard him say it clearly in the news clips I've seen. Is that the common pronunciation of Murdaugh? I've never heard the name before.

Yes he clearly says Mur-dock. Alec Murdock, not Alex. I know this for sure because now I'm watching a CNN show about the case where he repeatedly says his name, like when he makes the 911 calls and when he is sworn in in court, and there is no doubt about it. Also, the news people on CNN say it correctly, Alec Murdock.

His name is Richard Alexander Murdaugh. I think he doesn’t know how to pronounce his own name. Best to stick with the backwoods nicknames

The owner of the name determines the pronunciation. Your preference is irrelevant in the matter.

It's Alex but sometimes they pronounce it Alec or Elick

That’s because he (the convicted killer) pronounces it “Alec” per his own words in the Netflix doc.

Common pronunciation in SC.

5 murders in 6 years. That’s just how untouchable Elick thought they were.

He left it at the house.

It was stationary for roughly an hour. He originally said he was napping but I’m not sure how that changed once he was forced to admit that he was at the kennels after all.
