It's on the older side for sure, but you're not choosing between a baby at 41 or a baby at 21. You're choosing between a baby at 41 or no baby at all. That's a different calculus.

I've had my kids at 37, 41 and 44, and it IS old. But my choices were kids at this age or no kids at all, and I chose kids.


But you had one in your 30s, so you weren't really choosing between kids/no kids. I had mine at 36 and 38. I'm 41 now and wouldn't go for a third. There is a huge difference between 37 and 44.


I wanted three and that’s what I had. You don’t want a third and that’s ok.

You've got to be kidding. When your youngest is 20 you'll be 69. When I'm 69 my youngest will be 40 and my oldest 49 -- the same age that you are!


So you got pregnant at 19. I know a former teen mom who was an empty nester by 40. She is very open about how it was not ideal for her or her kids.

Family friend adopted a newborn in their 50s and 60s. That's old, but the daughter is almost a teen now and is living the good life. They seem to be in perfectly good health. Before covid they traveled, went to tennis opens, took her to shows etc.

Also, some of us had kids at 24 and our offspring have asthma and ADHD. And for all you know, she could have used a donor egg anyway.

I am sure it will be great for you, but for the average person, 49 is old. My first born will be 20 when your second born is born... I hope you are healthy and taking very good care of yourself
