Congrats! Enjoy living under MAGA for the foreseeable future. Conservative Supreme Court, a total lack of integrity, record corruption, waning power on the world stage, and a crappy economy.

California already compensated for Texas' changes. Virginia doesn't need to change their maps.
Virginia is attempting to compensate for all of the other Republican states that gerrymandered after Texas: Missouri, Ohio, and North Carolina. And Florida is on deck. None of those states offered it up to the voters directly, either.

I realized as the Trump signs on the lawns around me turned into vote NO signs that the people who ares saying that aren’t doing it out of principle. If it were Republicans redistricting, they would be just fine with it. They voted for Trump who is a liar, a bankrupt sexual assaulter and bringing our country to its knees. They have no principles and the only way to stop the monster is to have a temporary redistricting measure. They would do the same, and voted for someone who stormed the US capital to stay in power.
It was a sad vote, but like when I parent my kids, sometimes even sad things need to happen.
