When you are married you are supposed to be a team. It is amazing. I can understand protecting income before you are married but after there should be something more equitable for income after.. It was like she was some sort of hired employee. Well she is actually living in an employees house now. He is horrible. I will never watch a Costner movie again.
Did she contribute equally to the team? What did she add?
They had a nanny then a house manager as the kids got older, a chef, and a full time house keeper. What did she do given childcare and her kids activities, food and cleaning were all outsourced.
If marriage is a team, both people need to contribute. Marriage isn’t about getting rich. Why hasn’t she worked and built a career for the last twenty years? She seems to think her role in the team has just been to spend his money on herself.
I have no respect for women who see a man as the plan and marry for the wallet, who contribute nothing to the family, don’t build a career and think that being a woman is about shopping.
I have no respect for women like you who only value people based off their careers. You realize once you are dead it does not matter. She raised the kids alone. Let’s be real.

Well, if that is true she is getting paid handsomely well - 1.5 mil for 16 years (her oldest son age) of “service.” Plus all the goods she got and 1+ mil for the next 5 years.

That's not how it works. Usually everything bought with marital money is split regardless of who's name is on the deed. I bet the prenup prohibited her from using marital money to buy property solely in her name.Anonymous wrote:I guess anything that was in her name belongs to her alone. Maybe she could have been smarter and bought property with his money.
She was able to buy a car and pay for cosmetic surgeries. Maybe she could have withdrawn cash from the cc and put away? Invested?
God knows. Last case scenario, buy jewelry and those insanely expensive handbags that cost 20k+. Over 15 years that would amount to a good nest egg.

You are looking at this under the glasses of regular people. Regular people are not making 24 mil/year. And it is not like she has been with him since the very beginning when he was a starving actor and she had to work two jobs to support him until he “made it.”
Do you think Jeff Bezzos should marry his new gf without a prenup and then, when they divorce down the road she is entitled to half of everything he makes from this point forward?
1.5 mil is A LOT of money, plus the child support that will amount to over 1 mil/year.
Plus, I bet she has a lot of expensive/luxury handbags, jewelry and clothes. She can always sell some of those as she probably won’t need/have where to wear these type of things now, unless she finds another rich husband.
She was smart enough to buy a car recently, so I hope she made most of it during her marriage and bought tons of jewelry and personal goods.
I highly doubt KC cares about pots and pans and utensils, but since she was being disingenuous, he had to make it clear what she could take least she took the opportunity to take expensive stuff that doesn’t belong to her - maybe paints, collectibles, and the like.
Rich men and women have to protect themselves.

This, except, to be honest, I've thought Costner movies were usually dumb since the '90s.
His range is quite limited but he does the strong silent type well.
