Subject: Why does no one acknowledge how overworked teachers are?
The union needs to grow a pair of balls and stop the harassment and assault if teachers by admin, parents, and kids. People are getting hurt for fish sakes. We need to start firing people and I don't mean teachers

It is a systemic, nation-wide problem. Teachers are undervalued, underpaid, and get grief from parents their administration, and nowadays, their students. Until the profession is treated as such (with commensurate pay and some autonomy with less testing), things won't change

My job has meetings in the middle of the night occasionally. I survived.
Given the choice, I’ll take middle-of-the-night meetings any day over teaching. You also mention they happen “occasionally,” whereas the stress/panic of teaching happens all day, every day.

It's weird that we are ordered to fill out our paperwork in incorrectly no matter how many hours overtime we work. On the other hand some security guards get salary and fill out overtime such as the case that made the news where the security guard made over 150k + by not abiding by the rules teachers are forced to.

I hate to bash parents, but it seems a lot of parents have communication issues in the family.
My latest parent problem:
I teach in a specialized program. Parent is unhappy that kid says hates the program. (Kid would rather be the smartest kid in a room full of idiots rather than have a real challenge. I am not judging. That is just what the kid wants right now. I consider it more of a self esteem issue than an academic issue.) Parent doesn't want kid to leave program even though kid says will intentionally fail classes if forced to continue. Parent wants to meeting with me and other school personnel to convince kid to like program and stay.
Sounds like a true nightmare.
But you aren't addressing the point: What's your solution to the widescale issue noted by teachers about parents not doing a good job?

Yeah but how do you confirm that parents do this, and what happens to them if they don't?
You aren't going to get solutions to your problems by telling parents on anonymous message boards to "take your kids outside". What's your suggestion for an intervention that can actually be implemented?
