No. I was just saying that 15 year olds might be prescribed other meds beyond birth control.

Actually, my daughter is a dancer, so her heart does have to be strong for that. I would never dream of giving her a drug that is not meant for her to give her an edge though.

I do feel for these young skaters who are being used by their country, chewed up and spit out. There is no excuse for illegal PEDs given to anyone, but least of all children.

The difference is the nationalization of sport in the two countries. Athletes' families in the U.S. often complain about how much it costs to train an athlete for Olympic sports compared to the nationalized system in other countries like Russia. Sure, but with nationalization comes the chance that that country's government may be overly invested and demand certain outcomes to further the country's image. Concern for the athlete becomes secondary in those cases. The U.S. figure skating system is too disjointed for hide irregularities for too long.

Did she directly say it? I highly doubt it. This isn’t directed at you, but I have seen this nonsense attributed to her a couple times. Seems like nonsense her team dreamed up

It’s in the court documents. Her grandfather submitted a video holding up the medication, and declaring it was his, so that is her legal defense. As for the other 2 drugs, they were both legal, and properly declared on her forms, but they offer similar heart function optimization, which makes the TMZ flag seem less accidental.

It isn't just to practice longer, it's so they have more stamina at the end of their long program, which is huge advantage in the scoring system. Remember, in the 2018 olympics, the difference between the gold and silver was that the gold medalist put most of her triples in the second half of her long program, which earns you extra points. The gold medalist had the same coach as Kamila.

And at last year's World, the gold medal winner (same Russian coach) was so out of breath after her short program and there was a rumor that she was sick and could barely stay awake. Then during the long program, she was flawless and looked as if she had enough stamina for a redo if necessary.

I have no doubt all the russians are being given PEDs, but I'm not sure they'd risk it in the middle of an actual competition like Worlds where testing is a given. Most likely the "doctor" F-ed up with the dosing too close to Russian nationals and that was why Kamila still had some in her system.

But it's clear now that the whole testing system is a farce and not good enough. Everyone's railing about Kamila being allowed to compete but does anyone really believe that the other two russian skaters are "clean"? It's all a joke.

It was at last years Russian Nationals that Anna Shcherbakova was very sick after the short program and managed to win the long program against an insanely deep field of Russian ladies. Clearly they weren’t too worried about getting caught at Russian Nationals.

I had REALLY hoped that Kamila wasn’t aware of what was in her box of vitamins or whatever Eteri hands her and there would be serious international scrutiny of Sambo-70, Eteri’s training camp. However, the fact that she is going with the grandfather medicine excuse means she and her family are going to take the fall.
