Montgomery County will likely have a mask mandate again soon.
Plus, really, almost everyone I see in stores is wearing a mask even without a mask mandate. Obviously there are exceptions, but the groups I see who are most likely to be without a mask are (1) white people (2) men (3) white people who are men.

I would be fine if all antimaskers travel to Virginia to shop ans do whatever. Knock yourselves out.
I don't get why people are stunned when they get covid.

The vaccine also makes it far less likely that you will get infected in the first place.
True. Except my friend spent five minutes inside with a person who later learned they were infected with Covid.
She went to work for several days, unmasked in VA, assuming she just had particularly bad allergies until her boss made her take a Covid test. It was positive and she had a mild case, but is still exhausted 2 months later.
I mean, it's less likely and less likely you will die or be hospitalized. So go for it: drive to VA and shop maskless. No one is stopping you.

Does MoCo believe that Covid stops at the full restaurants with all the unmasked diners or Full stadiums, weddings, packed bars, wtf? Are the hospitals in any sort of dire condition? It’s just nonsense. Heading over to NoVa to shop and eat. Not an antivaxer, not an antimasker. Just someone who believes in the vaccine and understands math and probabilities. Wear a mask if you want, no one is stopping you.
The vaccines work for what they were made for - to lessen the impact on covid for you if you were to catch it. They were never fully intended to stop you from getting covid. It was about reducing symptoms that might lead to death. You still need masks. Covid doesn't just stop existing because you are wishing it away. Covid doesn't stop existing because people choose not to believe they can catch it.

I agree with you. But that's why I was surprised they ever got rid of them in the first place.
They should acknowledge that all the back and forth (and almost back, but oh wait, we changed the rules, etc) is not a good look for the county. It does make them look pretty amateur.
