As a parent of a GA kid, this may be the most disgusting thing I have heard. So the club was going to switch to what it believed was a better league for its girls and decided to pull the plug on it for what, 100k ish over two years? Any realistic GA parent will tell you ECNL is the better platform in this particular moment, it may change down the road but for now if you have a kid that wants to play college ECNL is a better, but not the only path.
It is absolutely disgusting, TH essentially sold out the girls for some money. TH should be called Top Hos and GA should be called the Prostitute Academy.
You need to stop taking things personal and realize this is all just a business. TH is doing well in the GA and now they potentially are not paying fees to governing body for both teams. That’s a great business deal which if true makes perfect sense to stay in GA.
Going GA to ECNL is about what allows clubs to make the most money. This is why a lot of GA clubs stay GA so their boys can play MLSN because that’s what makes the club money.

Do you mean MLSN telling a club to drop RL/ECNL for GA? I’ve never heard of that but MLSN/GA “partnership” really doesn’t mean as much as people think. ECNL own its product outright which is why they throw their weight around as far as making clubs fall in line or risk getting kicked out.
Exactly. People act like it works both ways but that is just ECNL blackmailing clubs into pulling away from MLSNext if they want their girls in. MLSNext really does not care what a club does on the girls side.
That’s because MLSN is a boys only platform. ECNL is for boys and girls.

Why would MLSN care? Better precedent for them would be breaking ECNL’s commitment to requiring both sides.
