they were. hopefully the reasons why they stayed for another year come out. I ain't spilling the beans. but a lot of pressure came down on them, one of many things.

Spill it

There's nothing to spill... There was a troll post by an ECNL person/parent who for whatever reason is obsessed with GA

cool story. if that makes you feel better, good for you. 2 teams informed ga they were leaving. ga bent the knee to keep them in. it is what it is. we will see if they stay after next season.

More than that. Rumor is the Ga waived all their entrance fees and showcase fees for both teams.

Top Hat and LF were on their way out.
Boys would have had to go ECNL.

In the end it’s all about the money.

Going to guess if this was true GA offered Lou Fusz the second team to entice them to stay. The timing of it works out.

But is Lou Fusz giving up MLSNext to play ECNL? I doubt it. Unless ECNL is starting to feel pressure and is willing to go back on their rule of having both your top Girl and Boys team.

A few teams have left MLSN for ECNL - definitely mediocre MLSN clubs but I think the new rules for HG around not playing HS ball are going to push more boys clubs towards ECNL. Because the truth is most MLSN HG kids aren't even playing D1 soccer anymore because of int'l players and transfers, so why give up HS soccer just to go play D3 or not play at all when you could have done that all along.

To say that those teams were mediocre is an absolute stretch, they were downright bad. It's also confirmed that one of those teams were definitively kicked out by MLSN

I am sure that is true - and there should be clubs removed that are not performing because that makes the whole thing make more sense. Having said that, it's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy because why should players give up school soccer to play for a subpar team where college coaches won't be watching them anyways because they aren't good. Just this year I know 4 players that opted for non-HG teams because they wanted to play for school and they realize the reality that everyone ends up in the same place anyways.

are the conferences posted anywhere for next seasons? I have been unable to find them anywhere online.

Not that I’m aware of. I just heard this from a friend that coaches in the GA. Apparently, the STL clubs have been saying they wanted to change conferences for travel reasons for a while now. The issue with LF is that ever since Lonestar left the GA, they’ve been able to qualify for Champions Cup pretty much guaranteed. If they left to go to the same conference with the Midwest Conference, it wouldn’t be as easy. Champions Cup is the only saving grace for GA from a competition and exposure POV.

Can’t edit, but wanted to add that it is extremely important that LF stay in the Frontier Conference or HTX will very likely bail and the whole thing will fall apart.
