His testimony makes no sense. He called out "police" and held up the gun, Joe asked Brendan to leave or let him leave, Brendan said he was "under arrest," and then Joe forcefully stabbed Christine, instead of leaving, and that's when he got shot.

In his testimony about the meeting, he said he would be eligible for a promotion if the meeting went well. This seemed really off to me given the circumstances of his federal employment, but I figured he would have hinged it on something, even if it was a very general and offhand comment by a supervisor after being badgered. But I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else was like “it was a meeting to make sure he was on track because all his cases are supposed to be “going well” or he’s going on a PIP.” BB math: basically a promotion!
