But with SO much of life returned to normal, its difficult for people to make a protest at 3:00 on a workday. We shouldn't a failed rally to reflect the will of the county
SO much of life returned to normal, huh?
It's always hard to for people to make a protest at 3:00 pm on a workday, which kinda raises the question: what fools would decide that 3:00 pm on a workday was a good time to have a protest?
Well, yeah, so much has. Outside of schools, most everything has returned in some capacity. What else hasn't?
If that's your standard for normal life, I don't know what to say.
You can start by stop being obtuse. I clearly said "returned in some capacity". I didnt say returned to normal life.
So what, outside of schools, has not returned in some capacity?
That is exactly why we cannot open safely.
But why? I know the virus is still here. But we accept that the virus is going to be here for another 18-24 months, and we agree that the status quo is not acceptable for SOME families, then what's to be done?
The numbers are good right now and well within health recommendations to begin re-opening.
If not now, then when?
You realize the issue is that you are acting in a selfish way now putting your needs first so we cannot reopen as your unsafe behavior impacts everyone. You are back to normal and your normal is part of why the virus is spreading. If we could have stayed on lock down and stopped the spread maybe we could have safely gone back.
You say I'm acting selfish, I say I'm doing what's right for my family. For 6 months we put the needs of everyone else first and nobody even have a passing thought to the health or who being of my family or my children. It's been all about them.
Well, after seeing my children spiral into depression, I'm putting them first, not my hypothetical obese asthmatic neighbor.
So yeah, we'll play soccer and baseball and softball and go to the playground.
Because I'm done caring about my neighbors when they don't have the decency to do the same for us
What is going on with your family if spending time together and staying home creates depression? You sound like a nasty person and that’s probably why it’s not working and why we cannot return! You’d be the parent to send your sick kid anywhere for a break.
DP. You think this person sounds nasty? I really think you sound nasty by being so judgmental. You're completely following the playbook that goes, "What's wrong with you? Try being a good parent like me. Why did you have kids in the first place? You just want free childcare." Did I get the whole spiel right?
It's probably one person posting all those messages across threads.
It is the same person. It is a teacher who haunts this threads shredding Parents for wanting their kids to go back to class in schools and receive a real education like the country and the rest of the entire world for God’s sake. This posters writing style is very obvious. A very sick and twisted person with no empathy for families or children who are struggling. A total psycho. Ignore.
I know it would be really convenient for you if only one person disagreed with you, but it's not true. I didn't post this, but agree with it and have made similar posts on other threads.

That's why European kids are in school and are staying in school despite rising cases, because schools have NOT BEEN SHOWN TO DRIVE THE SPREAD. If you actually cared about data, you'd know that. Schools might close if there is a full lockdown, but Europeans will not tolerate a situation where schools are closed and restaurants and gyms are open. You are the one hoping for magic if you think the virus must disappear before schools can ever open again.

Ok, normal was a stretch, but almost everything has returned in some capacity.
Work. Restaurants. Entertainment. Sports. Gyms. All back in some capacity.
Except schools. We've permitted ALL of those. And we drag our feet on schools.
Besides, schools, what hasn't returned in some capacity?
The common denominator is that all those other places don't have crazy unions running around shrieking.
No, the common denominator is they are all smaller scales. Schools are 500-3000 kids and a good number of the buildings are not safe and cannot be retrofitted.
Exactly. I don’t know why this is so hard for some people to grasp.
I went to the doctor last week. There were only three other people in the waiting room. When I visited with the doctor, she was wearing an N95 mask, a shield, and gloves. I was wearing a mask. My temperature was taken before I could see the doctor. I had to use hand sanitizer. I was the only person in the room with the doctor. All of this for a 20 minute visit. I felt safe. Will the schools be equipped to keep students and staff safe?
Thank you!
This is true for us as well. Even the staff are socially distancing within in the office. They spread shifts out and now one of the three who handle calls and records works remotely every day. They rotate. On any given day, there’s no more than 7 people in the office at once. 2 staff, 2 doctors, and 3 patients. Schools are planning on 15 students and 1 teacher.

If this is your level of analysis with all of the information before you, I don’t think you should be calling anyone “dumb.”
At least he has resigned himself to the fact that Trump will win re-election.
Um
https://www.voanews.com/2020-usa-votes/polls-show-biden-leading-trump-millions-ballots-cast
With 15 days remaining before the U.S. presidential election, Democratic challenger Joe Biden continues to lead in national polling against Republican President Donald Trump and millions of Americans are casting early ballots.
Poll aggregators show Biden, the former vice president and a fixture on the U.S. political scene for nearly a half century, with a 9- or 10-percentage point lead nationally and perhaps half that lead in key battleground states that will determine the outcome.
No president can really fix this except to put us under quarantine. Biden isn't going to do that.
