So let’s compare: school with 47,000 students - 518 positives. School with about 8,600 students - 763 cases. Hmmmm. Which number is “better”? I wonder. Do you think the President of UofM would go to a crowded event and not wear a mask when UofM requires all students to wear masks when they are not in their rooms or alone elsewhere?
Are all the students at Michigan on campus this semester?

Notre Dame announces 18 new positive tests, 39 total in isolation and quarantine
In the week since an influx of 11 positive coronavirus tests in two days forced Notre Dame to pause all football-related activities, the Irish have added another 18 positive tests. Notre Dame has a total of 25 players in isolation via active positive cases and 14 in quarantine thanks to contact tracing, the program announced Monday.
I add up 30 cases from 3,318 tests over the last 5 day period. On a campus that size, I still say they're doing quite well.
(And being an alum of a rival school, it takes a lot for me to compliment ND for anything!)
I'm watching for what happens at FSU after that 1,000 person party!

OMG 18 cases??? The humanity!

Who were supposedly isolating - of course it is hard to be mad at them considering the head of the university decided to avoid wearing a mask in a crowd.

Why?
I would think there's zero correlation since it doesn't impact the next year's cycle. Unless you believe that schools that went 100% remote are likely to still be doing so Fall 2021...in which case then I would ask why you believe that when no college has indicated that at all and it doesn't seem that likely. I could see among the schools that reopened the ones who had worst levels of cases experiencing some slight negative effect, but I don't think it will really make that much of a difference.
