I encourage anyone considering Bullis to spend more than a few hours at the school to get a real feel. If applying to HS, go at lunch time. I didn’t believe my child when she told me, even after she showed me the emails she received about the awful language and behavior. I thought it was just typical HS behavior. It is NOT. Just go and see for yourself. It is awful.

I second it. Before you make a deposit, go at lunch time and spend a few hours visiting classes. Just trying to give sound advice, something I did not get. Buyers remorse? YES. It happens....................

Yeah, but some schools will have 80 percent good/20 percent bad reviews, while others are closer to 50/50 or worse.

And yet you would have us believe that there's no difference between the 80/20 and 50/50 or 20/80 schools simply because they all have a mix of good and bad?

If you can dunk a basketball or run a sub 4.6 forty time, or are a sweet laxer, no questions asked, you will get accepted and a tuition break. The school has no admissions standards, period.

The headmasters legacy is a joke but somehow he convinced donors to name a building after himself.

If a Motel 6 is clean and comfortable or a lower level hotel, yes I'd give it four starts. In the end the important thing is the right fit for your child. Your ego may not care what is best for your child, but some of us care more about what is the best fit vs. status. No one cares where you kids went to elementary or middle and most don't care about high school. College and Graduate school are more important but that depends on the major. I'd love to consider Bullis except the cost. Its one of the few bigger, non-religious, co-ed schools.
