On a sidenote, 3 of the 5 players play at Skyline. As for the other two, one for VRSC and one for Wake. Both are GKs. Let that sink in.

Anonymous wrote:Wake up parents! The GA in the Mid Atlantic is a sub par league. If your DD plays on a team here they are not a candidate for D1 college soccer. There are only about 10% of the clubs in this league (not in NOVA) that have good players who play like the college coaches want. Even if your team is winning a lot of league games, it doesn’t mean they are a good team. Most of the winning teams locally are winning because they play kick and run well. Teams that get recruits play a team game as that’s what is required at the college level. Selfish play is rewarded but actually is detrimental to your DD’s prospect.

What you fail to understand, is GA is the best option for 2013 and below moving forward. GA is taking over.

LOL - you need to step outside of your bubble and look bigger. The teams you think are so great at WAGS is only because ECNL has their own events and you only have the strong GA teams there. Those same GA teams at the top regularly lose to similar ECNL teams in their region. Also, all those mid-Atlantic north GA teams lose their kids to ECNL every single year. Look at the U15 or U16 from some of those "top" teams.
starting at 2012/13s GA is becoming the better option. Sorry folks MLSNext killed ECNL. Local Top GA teams are beating the top local ECNL teams in DMV.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Wake up parents! The GA in the Mid Atlantic is a sub par league. Very generous. “Bottom of the heap” is more accurate.
Are you debating about how to characterize a pay to play youth soccer conference? What is the point y’all trying to make? Someday you will realize just how meaningless this stuff really is. Vibes of middle school.
I was characterizing where CISC stood in ECNL MA before moving to GA. But yes, this is a board that mostly discusses “pay to play” youth soccer.
If it weren’t “pay to play” then would you be comfortable discussing CISC GA success? Do you only talk MLS Academy soccer? Not MLSNext “pay to play” but MLS Academy.
No I still wouldn’t be discussing CISC GA success because it’s kids soccer. It’s weird to discuss kids sports as if they were professionals. Kids sports are an enrichment activity we pay to enroll our kids and keep them busy. Like piano lessons and SAT prep. Imagine if we talked about different SAT prep businesses like we do soccer clubs, which ones had the best college acceptances because they developed those kids, made a big deal when a kid switched from one SAT prep business to another, called another SAT prep business trash because they were only interested in profits. Sounds silly doesn’t it?
This forum exists to talk about youth soccer. You don’t have to be here. Did you type that or dictate it to the nanny?
There are still plenty of useful things that could and are discussed here. Age group changes, recommendations, tournament info. Genuine helpful stuff. I want more of that and less trash talk and silly stuff. It would make this place a lot better.
Discussing the discrepancy in levels of leagues is helpful. CISC was a bottom feeding ECNL club and are now the best club in their GA division.
This is helpful information for parents of young players.
If you are sitting in NOVA making decisions for your kid based on CISC, you might have a screw loose.
