No one outside of people in academia and those looking colleges for their kids has any idea if WashU is top20 or top40. Seriously. It is the least well known good school. There are professionals and hiring managers who haven't heard of it period. Harsh but true.
Emory is far more well known.
Washu much better for med school. There is really no comparison. Sorry.

Emory is better known. Is better academically at more things.
Not sure that’s true. WashU ranks higher in med, law, biology, political science, economics, english, physics, math, psychology, and CS, among others.

Many. That's why so many waitlists are still active. Some international students are on the fence about coming, and may decide late. Others won't be able to get their visas processed.

Yes but if the Trump administration is slow rolling VISA interviews and processing, the impact to this year will be the same. I’m surprised schools haven’t announced a hybrid first semester so if your visa gets delayed you would attend remotely until it is processed.
