Scores are correcting themselves from students being behind from the Covid Years. You sound like Biden taking credit for creating jobs even though they were just people going back to work from Covid.

And the scores increase would be the result of the teachers, not the Principal. And those good teachers all left Navy thanks to your boy.

The scores that were highlighted as improving - none of those teachers in those grade levels left.

Here goes the navy obsessed mom again..why don't you just start your own navy post? Oh wait, because they always go south with argumentive and meanspirited language.

Someone always manages to get them deleted.

I’ve noticed that. The minute a Navy thread goes up, someone reports it. I have a feeling it’s the same person over and over…

At my kids school, some that had announced end of school year retirement at the start of the school year 23-24 are staying on at least another year. I’m guessing some sort of incentive was offered to keep retiring teachers on staff longer due to shortages?

Very low chance of getting a long-term sub for these positions. More likely a rotating cast of daily subs.

That’s what happened at our school this past SY, but it was only for about 3 months.

This is bad.

There’s still the whole summer to hire someone. Please don’t start panicking now. Summer just started.

I’d imagine the only actual teachers available this summer are a few who might be moving from out of the area due to their spouse’s job. New grads were hired months ago and transfers have already been placed. That leaves nobody to fill the vacancies except subs (and good luck finding them!).

July is the tail end of the hiring season. Principals have been able to hire since March so majority have accepted jobs. It’s really only about a month and a half until school starts. New teachers have great beginnings (orientation) August 5 and teachers are back in school prepping on August 12th.

I guess you’ll just have to keep blaming the new principal then, won’t you? Because that’s clearly all you want to do. (Psst - no one is buying it.) Have a nice, relaxing summer, if you can with all the worry about vacancies.

Unhinged much?

On the contrary, I’m very relaxed. I’m happy with the new principal and look forward to new faces in the fall!

You should volunteer your kid to be in the class that will start the year off with no teacher since you are so relaxed.

Worry about your own kid - otherwise you are just fear mongering.

That makes no sense. How is it fear mongering if there are so many open positions and it is almost July? It is plausible that not all will be filled. Get your head out of the sand.

Why don’t you wait and see what happens come August 19 before freaking out? Do you have any summer plans?

No one is freaking out but it's normal to not be so laissez faire and hope everything works out. Do your summer plans take over your entire summer?

I don’t spend my days worrying about how many vacancies are at a specific school at the end of the year, no. I have confidence our admin will get them filled come August 19 and I will be back here then to say I told you so. Have a good summer and maybe try a Xanax.

Since we go to Navy we worry. We also worry about the home value if navy goes south.

We go to Navy and aren’t worried.

Lucky you.

Given the demographics of the school as the largest plurality is Asian, our community tends to value education. If the score goes down, there will be exodus.

This is what the PP wrote earlier. I can only assume the PP is Asian. PP clearly states if the score goes down, there will be exodus. Well the scores didn’t go down - they went up.

Not that I know of, but that's what she keeps saying so I quoted her.

LOL....no one cares

The Asian community who cares so much about test scores will!!! Now housing values won’t go down and no one will move away!!! Hallelujah - we are saved!!!

Is this sarcasm?

What clued you in finally?

You constantly making digs at the Asian community for caring about their kids education.

Go back and read. An Asian first accused a PP (non Asian) of not caring about their kid’s education bc they weren’t Asian.

You’d have to ask the Asian community, or at least the PP on here who was apparently representing the entire Asian community. They specifically said if test scores go down, there would be “exodus.” Looks like the can rest easy now - test scores went up! Maybe there will be an influx now?
