I had the same thought! Also I don’t know what it is about him, but he just looks like the type of guy who would blow up his entire life for the chance to be with a hot 23 year old.

Like… I dunno, I now see his pic and I’m like, “yep, stabbed his wife, ruined his life, ruined his kids life… all to be with his Au pair. This checks out”

But too dumb and cheap to marry her for spousal privilege. That checks too.

He did look like Musk, smug/smarmy and secretly full of self loathng.

Did they seem to expect people to interact with them, like it never happened?

Has to be really trippy. Like they wanted to just replace her. He could have gotten a divorce.

Was Brendan liked amongst the husbands or did people get a sense he was fake and shady?

To be honest, I think BB just didn’t give a f*** about what others think. He wasn’t really friendly and just kept to himself. Complete opposite of CB who was super sweet.

We just had a horrible first time au pair experience and fired her and dropped the agency. I was angry at losing the Hoge placement fee to the agancy (bc they completely misrepresented the au pair - she didn’t have the skills they said she had and she had mental health issues that the agency knew about), but I keep thinking maybe we dodged a bullet?

You just bad luck. We have only had positive experiences with our au pairs.

We also had a terrible experience. We used one of the more expensive agencies that specializes in au pairs that are slightly older with some work experience. But she had criiplojng anxiety and could barely leave the house. From talking to lots of friends and neighbors with au pairs, it seems like about 25% are super great, 50% are okay/fine/some issues, and 25% are just terrible or have significant issues.

I would never hire someone from a foreign country to live in my home and care for my child. Au pair companies don't vet these girls. The girls come here for "cultural exchange" and I know of two divorces due to the husband f*ing the au pair in my small North Arlington neighborhood over the past 10 years.

We have hosted for a number of years, with no issues. We are friendly with all our former au pairs. Do not generalize.

I came here just to say the same. One rotten apple should not spoil the whole barrel. We have been hosting for years. Some au pairs we have gotten closer to than others of course, but overall, we (including our children) have had a great experience. All of our au pairs have come here as professionals to improve their English. Within weeks, they feel like a family member. Yes, others have had bad experiences, but it's not ALL MURDER! Bad experiences can include bad attitudes, bad hygiene, poor professionalism, etc - all of which can also be experienced by day care providers and other nannies. The in-home bit makes it a bit tricky, but with open communication we the right support system, it has worked.

Where did someone say it's all murder? Can you link?

It is inherently risky having a complete stranger from another country come and live in your home, esp because they are a young woman and it's not unheard of for them to have relationships with husbands.

Daycare providers don't live in your house. And they don't have that kind of intimate access to your husband. Nor are most daycare providers desperate for a green card and to marry in a short amount of time. Can lead to issues. Not murder, commonly, thank God!

Have an au pair if you want. The point of the post was Christine's QUOTE, not your childcare.

Yes. Agreed!

The au pair program is a bit different than becoming friends with someone though.

It's bringing a young woman who is a complete stranger to live in your home, with your husband, it's not uncommon for issues to arise. Many are driven to marry while here.

Her boosting the program and saying an "au pair" can change your life, when she was later killed because of her husband colluding with one in her home, it is ironic. And tragic.

I'm honestly surprised he didn't marry her, he had legal reasons and her visa was running out from her side. It's all surreal.

The police chief does inspire confidence, hope that there is some justice and also that Joe's name is cleared.

To summarize, it's not a matter of if, but when BB gets arrested.

The chief does inspire confidence. I remember seeing that press conference in the street and expecting it to be routine, stranger danger thing, it really got my attention. His body language, voice, careful words, it was clear BB did NOT make a favorable impression that day and they were NOT buying what the 2 monsters were selling. And they wanted to get justice for both Christine and Joe, may they be successful.

Wonder who hurt BB's leg? Was it Christine fighting for her life or Joe fighting for his? Or did he do it, thinking it added cred?

BB strikes me as the type who will cry in court and play the real victim, cue the tiny violin.

Wait, what?

He was treated at the hospital for a minor injury the day of, then released.

I wonder if this is a reason why BB claimed he shot JR instead of the au pair? So he could explain the injury

Makes sense.

I think it was because it was his service revolver and he didn't want to explain how Juliana had it.

The wound could have been caused by knife, it will come out later.

I swear I think he thought they would just buy the story, hook, line and sinker out of some FBI deference. That police chief is committed to justice for those 2 victims, BB's time as a free man may be winding down.

+1 In the Instagram link pp posted (https://www.instagram.com/p/3zFtGICQRB/) he looks so much like Elon Musk—both incredibly creepy guys. And her hashtag on that post, “tildeathdouspart” is beyond devastating. Looking forward to everything he has coming. That man wasn’t raised right.

I mean look at what his mother puts out on the internet about crime victim Joe Ryan. And the surreal posts about how happy her DIL is, dead.

He didn't want to share the $ with Juliana either, I thought for sure he'd marry her to keep her in country and for spousal privilege. Bet she thought he would too. She's so ride or die, she killed for him and she's a DD. But, nope, didn't put a ring on it. Is he so confident she can't be flipped or is he that cheap?

He wanted to be the big man in her world, not be a grown up in his own. Such trifling, worthless, trash humans.
