I’m really confused because none of the people in this forum have ever been on the field against Yorktown. Anything we all know comes from somewhere else and could be a misinterpretation or rumor. Not a Yorktown parent but just don’t understand how some can be so passionate about something they really have no clue about. It also seems crazy to me to create a reputation of a high school kid based on a couple actions they’ve taken in the heat of competition. Even professional athletes do things far worse than what any Yorktown or high school kid is capable of.

Agree Bruins are top pick to win it all this year. They have a really good team this year.

One of the best parts of this blog has been the insightful and dispassionate commentary on the teams and games. Have really enjoyed reading the the thoughtful analysis to this point without it falling into name calling and calling out the kids. I am the proud parent of one the Yorktown kids that you called out and have known all three since they were in grade school and since they all started playing lacrosse together. Have watched them all grow to be great lacrosse players and great young men, not without making some mistakes like all of us along the way. Two of of them will have the opportunity to play D1 next year and will learn even more lessons at that level while also going to college. They will all continue to learn lessons about respect, sportsmanship and humility throughout their lives. They are passionate and they play the game all out If you knew them outside of the field you would know how great they are. They are not perfect and when they make mistakes we call them out. I assume all the parents on this blog do the same with their kids. We want them to be great young men on the field as well as when they off. I certainly plan to take the comments made about my son here as an opportunity to remind him to play hard but with respect for the game and everyone on the field. You don’t have to like our boys or our team, but we should all at least respect how hard all of them in every team work at this. I know that my son already is 10x the man I was at his age both in body and mind. I am very proud to be his dad as I am sure all of you are about your own boys.

McLean and Langley - great teams. Played us hard and could have gone either way. Very impressed with McLean. Great things are coming their way. Both have quality players and will be tough to beat in years to come. The end of the Regional Langley game was disappointing. Players on both sides and the ref let their emotions take over. Players made dumb hothead mistakes but the refs are not perfect either and should have kept their cool. They are the adults on the field. Fault on all sides here and a lesson for all of us. Madison - always tough - hate the cowbells but the game always pushes the boys to another level. All great teams and proud that we play them all out every year. I am sure we will trade wins and losses for years to come.

We will all be disappointed for them, win or loose when each of our seasons comes to an end. A lot of us have spent many hours next to fields watching them grow up and we will miss that. This is their game - not ours. Let’s enjoy what they are doing and not make it about us.
