People like to trash 2028 as a down year in the DC area, but I don't think that is necessarily accurate. They lost too much talent to the Baltimore teams.

A handful of players from DMV leave for MD clubs every year. Typically other talented DMV players fill the gap where Capital remains highly competitive. For the 28s, this top talent largely wasn’t there. Hence 28s = down year compared to other years. This is true bec past Capital teams farmed much higher-ranked year 1 teams with even higher rankings in year 2 because, after losing the typical players to MD clubs, the remaining DMV talent was strong. Cap 28 didn’t lose too much talent to Balto: they lost the handful of better players for that year, and there wasn’t enough talent across the rest of the DMV class compared to other years to fill the void. It’s why Capital 28s have hovered around #21 this year when past teams in year 1 have hovered at #5 (25s) and #16 (24s) after the predictable player exodus to MD before the year 1 season. Great to see Capital continuing to improve - they will get better as most / all Capital teams do when it counts in year 2.

This sounds reasonable but who knows if the girls who left would’ve made any difference. The one thing I do know is that you’d have to be crazy to drive that far for practices.

Largely agree. 2028 class in DC area is plenty strong. Some of them just don’t play for Capital.

I really think it all has to do with the 29s. Some M&D DC 2029 parent (or other affiliate) really wants that team to stay together instead of disbanding for Capital, and is trashing the 2027 and 2028 Capital teams on various forums. You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet.

Not one post suggests an M&DDC poster. In fact the opposite. Looks like Cap has birthed this all on its own.

If Capital updated their website and made some current posts/pictures about commitments to acknowledge players that would go a long way.

What are the other lax forums (aside from BOTC)?

Various active DCUM lacrosse threads including: 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030. It’s all the same talking points, so seems to me it is the same person or people.
