They had a solid tournament. Having said that, they could be much better with upgrades at certain positions. Precisely why Capital has them tryout again. Expect to see movement between two teams and some players from other clubs.

Maybe they have the players they need but the coaches haven't gotten them to gel well. Seemed to be a lot of individuals trying to play hero play hero ball when I watched. Not sure if they are coached that way or if the coaches haven't been able to change habits, but perhaps some of the talent is untapped.

Don't the 29s have to make their decisions before the 28s even have their tryout? Dumb post.

I agree with the PP that Capital should be very concerned about the future. Have no idea when they have to make their decisions. My guess is Capital will get most of that talent though.

I am sure Capital will improve slightly after tryouts. They will probably pick up a couple of girls they cut last year and add a new player or two who didn’t try out last year. The question is, do they prioritize players currently on orange over those new to the program?

My hope is that they prioritize taking the best overall players. I don’t care if that means bringing girls up from Orange or from outside the program. Simply take the best players.

Agree with the analysis and have heard no indications of problems at Crush.

More broadly, makes sense that "at least one" may consider Capital, but I don't see a big group coming South. Coppermine and Crush players live North of Baltimore for the most point. A lot of the 2028 Maryland families, especially those whose 2028 player is the eldest, have no idea what Capital is, as there is a justified belief they live in the epicenter of girls lacrosse. As a result, there really isn't likely to be a group of 5-6 girls from these clubs at Capital tryouts on Wednesday.

And before someone suggests that this sounds defensive, it's not. I would say that there are some Capital folks who would welcome them, who support a meritocracy and the goal of fielding the best possible teams. Just a lot of barriers to this happening (logistical, timing issues, knowledge of opportunity and history with recruiting support and coaching, etc.). And Capital takes it's commitment to its players very seriously. Maybe it's a brave new world and this is the year for dramatic, disruptive moves, but I would imagine that any changes will be incremental.

I heard Magnificent 7 offering their services as a package deal. Looks like Coppermine might be in the running to land all of them 🤪
