This is correct. The reason we are seeing the prolonged high plateau of deaths is other states are peaking. Texas just had its highest death toll yesterday.

Some good news. The positive rate has dropped to 9% (still too high) with increased testing.
We have 1.23 million confirmed cases and 72,250 total deaths. We added 2329 deaths today.

This isn't a disagreement over facts. It's a disagreement over how much and what kind of risks should be imposed on different groups. There is no one right answer there is just a bunch of value judgments and tradeoffs.
